Default Which blu ray player should I buy ?

Hi.
I have a panasonic viera. I think its a panasonic viera 42pv8d A 42 inch (I think). I wanted to buy a blu ray player, but im not sure which one. I am willing to spend upto $ 380 (U.S dollars).I wanted a blu ray player which is region free, plays blu ray dvds in very high quality and I also want it to play normal dvds. Should I buy a blu ray dvd which plays 4k resolution. Eg. Samsung’s BD-F7500 ? And will 4k resolution blu ray players play normal blu ray discs into 4k resolution or are there special blu ray dvds with 4k resolution.
Thanks

So I'm in the market for a new player and wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I had a Vizio VBR231 and was pretty happy until the apps stopped working. While I'd love another Vizio I am open to other players. Here are the specs of what I'm looking for and my price point($142 w/tax) Wireless streaming for Netflix, Pandora and if possible Amazon Prime? Since I don't have a 3D television I don't need a 3D player. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking to get some suggestions on what would be the best 3D Blu Ray Player.. Im definitely wanting a outstanding picture and audio quality to go with my brand new 60" Samsung F8500 and my 7.2 home theater. Budget around $200. Please help...

I'm really considering jumping on the sale at Frys for the Pioneer BDP-150 3D Blu-Ray Player. $89.99 but I'm not sure....

The cheapest 3D multi-region player you can get is the Toshiba 3200. It doesn't have Wi-Fi, the 3300 does but you can't make it multi-region and it isn't 3D. That's about £65.

If you find a 3200 in a supermarket or Currys (or even Marks) store wrap your arms around it and don't let it go! They've been as low as £39.99 and for that you can stick a router on the back of it to make it internet ready for not much more!

Otherwise you're looking at a modified player from Amazon Marketplace or another multi-region specialist. They're usually over a £100.

Hey gang, hoping I can get some assistance. I'm looking for a new player to go with my LG 55LE5500 flatscreen in the living room. I'd love for it to have the Amazon Instant app and HDMI or Optical out for a soundbar. I'd also like to stay under the $200 price point if possible. So if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey!

So our DVD player back home (Dubai) broke down and we are looking for a new one.

When it comes to blu-rays, we have both region A and B and DVDs from all over the world. Since we have a Region 2 PS3 that plays our region 2 blu-rays, we decided to get a Blu-Ray player from the US that plays all DVD regions.

So I guess, What I am looking for is a Blu-Ray player that plays Region A Blu-rays and Has a region free DVDs.

Anyone have any in mind?

We were going to get Oppo, but we don't really need to spend $500 to get a region free blu-ray player, since we already have a player that plays region 2.

OK, so it seems Vizio has gotten out of the BD player arena. So now I'm looking at the following players and wondering if anyone has any feedback? Samsung BD-FM57C, Sony BDP-S5100 and Sony BDP-BX510. While I don't necessarily need the 3D aspects of the players, I do like that the USB is on the back of the Sony's. That, and the last one I can purchase at Costco. So does anyone have any thoughts on any of these?

I want something region-free (ABC 0-9) that can do apps (Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, BD Live, etc.) via wifi, upscales, and is between the $200-300 range. Does any such thing exist? I've been combing eBay and cross-referencing it with Amazon, the reviews for most players in that range are quite middling, and of course you get what you pay for. Is there such a player?

God, I miss the days when I could buy a player and the store and just tweak the damn thing with the remote. You know, I bend over backwards to actually buy the damn imports and actually pay for the damn things instead of downloads and stuff, but they don't make it easy.

Default Blu-ray player suggestions

I'm looking for a budget blu-ray player and wondering if you could suggest a budget or great value one.

Required features:
- Most important is "reliable".
- Universal video, audio codec & formats. It plays (almost) anything we put in --- e.g. divx, xdiv, mkv, vob, avi, mpeg-?, H.264, ACC, AC-3, etc.
- 1080p or better?

Good to have:
- built-in wifi
- 3D
- Internet apps (netflix, browser)

Any hidden gem?

Thanks,
Jerry

Have you looked at the BDP-103 or is that too expensive? Start talking universal and the price scales up. Want less features then you can get something cheaper.

Reset my Samsung BD-D5700 to factory setting, put it in its original box and bought another 5100. Love this player and can't give it enough credit. Looking forward to watching a movie on it when I get a chance.

Can anyone point me towards a good, reliable blu-ray player for under $100? Just something basic that will play region A BDs, 3D and wireless not necessary. I had a Toshiba bdx2150 that was total crap, had playback issues from day one, before I finally gave up on it.

Honestly? I'd recommend the Sony BDP-S3100, which is the one below what I bought. If you are a Costco member I believe they have it for around $70. Knock on wood, I've had no complaints on my Sony so far.

Thanks for the recommendation, I've been seriously considering going with Sony as their products usually do right by me but the choices and prices vary so much I wasn't sure which player had the best bang for my buck.

$70 for that player would be great if I had a Costco nearby. Best Buy wants over $100 for that particular model. While I was there I saw a lower priced (older?) model for around $80 (or $75 at walmart) though, since I don't need WiFi capabilities I was thinking this may work. Anyone know how the BDP-S1100 stands via reliability?
