Latest update: well not much of an update, they promised another one mid November with more exciting things. We will see...

btw i hope they sent the review units to the right people, most won't even bother or are unable to check 3D capabilities.

Second update came in on Nov 17th, they received their 1st manufactured unit.

Hopefully a beta testing with the public soon ? I want them to take some time doing this step, its crucial to avoid any major bugs with the device, and not just rush out the product because of pressure coming from Investors (us backers). About shipping, if all the steps done right i honestly don't see this shipping until probably Fall 2022.

They missed the window to make this available for retail during Christmas. So they'll definitely be taking their time.

Summary:

If the Chinese government doesn't issue anymore Covid delays in the Shenzhen province where the Cinera Chinese offices are located, manufacturing should be finished in mid-April and shipping will start in late-April.

The battery has been upgraded (for all backers) to a battery that will last longer (more recharge cycles), but with slightly lower power.

Kickstarter backers can upgrade to the "newer" Asian models for $100.

Cinera Edge Pro Upgrade - Extra 96gb of SD card storage.

Cinera Edge (non-Pro) Upgrade - Extra 2gb of RAM and extra 16gb of SD card storage.

I don't see why anybody would pay $100 more for the Pro upgrade. 128gb SD cards on Amazon are cheaper than $100. The extra 2gb of RAM may make more sense for the non-Pro backers. Especially since they won't be using the HDMI port.

At this point nobody should be putting any more $$$ into this until we see some units ready, fully functional and reviewed by trusted known reviewers and the flaws (which for sure there will be a few) worked out.

Am i seeing things or they really said on this last update that around May 10th they will start shipping ? where are the testing reviews ??? heeelp lol

Edit: there was another update today 5/20, its happening!! the 1st units will be shipped out!! i am not sure if i am on this 1st batch or not, waiting for a shipment email confrimation.
