Mine says exactly the same. I think they were getting stock on the 26th which is why it says delivery for Saturday.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a German 4K release in the future. Only Synapse owns the US rights, but I'm still scratching my head why diabolikdvd isn't selling this, it's never stop them before selling other movies from overseas. I think they know something that's just speculation on my part.

That's a more palatable price for me. I've put in an order, if they can fulfil it then great, if not then I'll just wait for standard editions (which I was going to do anyway). I need to see the packaging in the flesh, I'm not entirely convinced...

Maybe they could have licensed Synapse's stereo track. Wishful thinking. I can live with mono, though, if the video kicks arse, which it apparently does.

Or do as they suggest, downmix the 5.1 to stereo when watching. Like I say earlier, it sounds very authentic and without revisionism, so probably downmixes very well.

No more different doing it that way than Synapse's which is also "faked".

Yep, it's pretty clear the original release was in the "old Arrow" mould of just slapping provided masters onto disc, which in that instance wasn't graded properly to match the original look. Synapse regraded those masters to fix it as you say, now Arrow have done the 4K remaster properly and have made amends for their earlier ropey release.

I'm frustrated. My shipment from Amazon is currently at this step - "Due to a technical issue the shipment is currently on hold pending further processing" with DHL. It says it left London Heathrow, but is currently in East Midlands.

Should I be worried? Is this common with DHL coming from UK? This is my first international order for a movie in about 15 years.

Why would people want the stereo mix if the 5.1 is an 'authentic' derivation of the Dolby Stereo original anyway? Not that I'm against wanting an original matrixed stereo mix on this or any other movie, but if the main mix has itself been derived from original elements with no modern additions then that's fine.

It's at East Midlands Airport the biggest freight hub in UK. DHL have a massive warehouse there its probably going through the checks (ie checking for drugs) they do before flying out.

In my not very scientific simply sitting down to watch it, there was no egregious directional effects in the 5.1. It just sounds opened up with more room to breathe. Should fold back down pretty well (and I wonder why they didn't do that anyway to remake a stereo mix? Too much honesty? )

I didn't even know Synapse had "faked" a stereo mix on 2 due to not finding the elements until it was mentioned in this thread. Then again, if Arrow had done this and not mentioned anything, I bet people would have noticed small differences to the Synapse mix and it would have all come out anyway.

If the 1080p clips in the extras are good indicators of how the new Blu-ray's look, then they do indeed still look superb. But the HDR/DV adds something extra that I find hard to describe sometimes*, and this film by style certainly has a lot that benefits from anything that can give more range.

*but the marketing gubbins for HDR would seem to describe it well here. Blacks look blacker, whites look whiter and the colours just pop more.

A German release is not likely at all, the first part is still banned in Germany.

Really? Is there a specific reason? It's no more violent or gorier than other '80s horror films released on German market, at least in my opinion.

Germany used to ban dozens of violent movies in the 80s. Some of them are still banned, because a label must go to court to lift the ban and small boutique label's don't want to spend their money for that.
