I think all 3 are great. I love Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Sopranos, Band of Brothers, Dexter, The Wire, etc. etc. I voted for HBO but AMC is catching up fast.

I have to go with HBO

Rome
Deadwood
Carnival
Game of Thrones
The Wire
The Sopranos
Band of Brothers
John Adams

I could go on. . .

With that said my favorite series probably lies with either Showtime (Dexter) or Starz (Spartacus).

HBO. I don't think it's close. AMC, FX, Showtime, NBC, Comedy Central, and Fox all have some good shows, but it's hard to beat what HBO is putting out. Starz hasn't done too bad considering they haven't been doing shows for very long, but they made a mistake in cancelling their best show in Party Down.

really hard to choose

AMC:
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
The Walking Dead

HBO:
Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire
True Blood

Showtime:
Dexter

Dexter is my absolute favorite out of those but I wouldn't trade it for any of the other three so I'll have to go with with a tie between AMC/HBO

HBO have and had so many quality shows it's not even close. The Sopranos, The Wire, Deadwood, Game of Thrones, Westworld

Showtime - Apart from Twin Peaks: The Return which was a one-off, I only watch Ray Donovan and that's been going downhill for me in season 5

AMC - just have The Walking Dead going for it, and that can struggle at times with 'boring' character episodes.

HBO, without a doubt. So far, I own 6 or 7 shows of theirs physically and digitally.

It would be a tie between USA Network and AMC for second place. I have to do a tally, but those two networks also churned out a few good shows.

Was wondering why Netflix wasn't listed as an original option, then noticed this thread is 6 years old.

This, seeing as they make the best two shows currently on TV.

It was HBO for me for many years. Now it's Netflix. It's like a new level of television.

My number one would surprisingly be Starz. Black Sails is my second favorite show ever, it's criminally underrated. Spartacus and Ash vs. Evil Dead are both amazing as well.

Number two for me would be HBO as Game of Thrones is a classic in the making and Boardwalk Empire is just phenomenal as well as Deadwood and Band of Brothers.

Number three would be AMC for The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul.

Four goes to Showtime for Dexter alone.

Netflix would round out my top five for Daredevil, Narcos, Stranger Things and the cancelled-too-soon Marco Polo.

HBO used to be number 1 for me but now I think it's Showtime.
