I wanted a post like this after reading the thread about Knight & Day Japan version which is soon out. What would make that one a rare item compared to other releases? It seems it has a print run of 5000 items. So I guess the criterias are:

* General interest in movie
* Availability & exclusivity
* Print run
* Country of origin & region code
* Steelcase design
* (Initial) price
* Individually numbered items

Other factors may be evident later, like pre-orders, damaged items, hoarders, hype etc.

I've ordered and pre-ordered my share of blu's for a while so I doubt I will get an item like K&D, but it's still fun to look for and decide what to get next.
i know what u mean...i wished i have known about the romeo and juliet ironpack before they were all sold out im still looking

Of course....

The rating Logo is printed on this one, which does not really make the artwork nice

Good Luck....paying 50$ for a "rare" Steelbook is not much. Trust me.

I personally like Embossed/Debossed Steelbooks like:

Death Race (G2 size)
1408 (GER)
The Book of Eli (GER)
Wanted (G2, GER)
Iron Man (FS, CA)
Iron Man 2 (Asia)

The Amazon Uncut Edition. As I started collecting Steelbook in 2009, this is my most expensive Steelbook. It is absolutely mint and still sealed, comes with the Tatoo and is fully Uncut. I did pay 200 Euros (!!!) for it.

The Salvation Steelbook has always the same cover artwork, so it is mainly your choice which one you pick. In terms of rarity, probably the Greece one is hard to come buy.

I have plenty of this if anyone wants... (SALVATION)

Any steel with a ratinglogo makes it not Rare I only buy Steels without logos or a steel like Moonwalker,Gran Torino with a clean side

I guess that John Rambo with a logo is the one that stands out in that departement...

I collect T2 steels and would love to get the 2.0 version, i have the 1.0 on its way and have the UK one and the HD DVD steel also

That is a tough one....I can tell you, that the GER, UK and Greece one have the same Backpaper cover artwork, obviously everyone with it's country language. The Steelbooks themselves do ALL have the same coer artwork.

There are 13 country Steelbooks available from this Terminator

It is not identical.
The original had the bluray strip on the top of the case while reprint does not have it.

Opps sorry, I just meant the bluray strip.
I was thinking of The Dark Knight, since the re-release of The Dark Knight only has the movie and not the 2 other discs.
