Default The Honourable Woman (BBC 2014)

The Shadow Line was a great series so I had high expectations for this new eight part espionage thriller from Hugo Blick. The first episode was rather convoluted but the opening scene was excellent and the last scene guarantees I'll be watching next week. First rate performances, particularly from Maggie Gyllenhaal and Stephen Rea and stylish photography which makes the lack of a blu ray release very annoying

I'm currently watching this and have got two episodes to go. I took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but now I'm finding it very gripping. Great cast all round.

I agree, it is very annoying when the BBC don't release something on Blu-ray, especially a classy, expensive looking drama like this.

Simply brilliant, those who gave up after the first episode lost out. Performances were all superb but Stephen Rea was outstanding, what happened to his biscuit was hilarious. The BBC should shovel money at Hugo Blick before someone in America does. Very annoyed about the lack of a blu ray, I hope Europe or America gets one

Was a little wary of this because unlike another poster I didn't rate Shadow Line, yes that opening sequence with the 2 policemen poring over the evidence of that car was genius and the first few episodes showed allot of promise but it got bogged down with being utterly ridiculous while wanting to be gritty and realistic, the acting was fine but Stephen Rea character was ridiculous.

Any way onto THW, a breath of fresh air, maybe 6 episodes would have been more ideal instead of 8 but I didn't get bored once and MG and SR were utterly brilliant. Maybe Blick should have a stab at the next Bond script.

The CBC ( Canadian Broadcasting Corp. ) has run this also . I was surprised public TV went with it uncensored for some T&A
