We are really really sorry we had to remove the Amazon price history, but unfortunately it's out of our hands. We are doing our best to replace it with a similar more generic price history with a mix from other retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart etc. We have removed and locked the original thread to avoid further unnecessary speculations.

My whole reason to come to this site is for the price tracker. Where is the button to add price tracking? I can't find it or the price graph anywhere.
Thanks. Randy Kaempen |

The price tracker is still here (though the price history is gone), but for some titles it disappears if that title is no longer being sold by Amazon. Perhaps the title you are looking to add is out-of-print or discontinued? What is it?

I'm trying to find out the pricing history for a couple items but it's showing me the history for Best Buy and I'd like to change it the history for Amazon.ca. Actually, the two editions are Canadian so of course they wouldn't show up on Best Buy.
Thanks in advance. |

probably forced to remove it for the time being (or forever after they were forced to remove the history graph last time)

Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing, although it's weird that I can still go look up the price tracker on its own page. Oh well, maybe it's for the best that I can't instantly see like 8 things that are on sale LOL

i understand why they wanted to remove the price tracking, so they could shadily shoot prices up before big sale days but i don't understand why they're wanting to remove price alert functions since it probably causes a hell of a lot of impulse purchases |

Personally, I find the current Price Tracker to be much more useful than the collection Wishlist feature (even absent the ability to track prices), both because I can view hundreds of entries per page and when items are no longer being sold directly by Amazon then the Price changes to "n/a", which sometimes is an early indicator that a title has gone Out Of Print. If there's any chance of either keeping the Price Tracker open to new additions (even if they won't be price tracked) or establishing a new list that includes either/both of those elements then I would appreciate it, and potentially others might as well. |

Sounds it's time to move price tracking alerts over to Best Buy prices and / or other retailers instead of just removing the functionality entirely. What a waste.

And if Wishlists are the new way to keep some track, then could you build a transfer option to take everything in one's price tracker and add it to their wishlist since doing it manually is just stupid. I have 991 items currently in my price tracker and would rather not have to add them one by one.... and will I have somewhere I can still view the current Price Tracker items or will that view go away in a few days making it even harder to know what was tracked?

Could you also then change the colors for the collection icon under the cover art. Before I could tell something was in my collection because it was green. But if I'm to start using the wishlist, it would be much more useful if that also didn't make the icon green along with all the other options there. What a mess this is going to be without some significant smart upgrades to this site to better delineate the collection "status" so not everything purchasd and not purchased looks exactly the same.
