What is your "Grail" steelbook?

Curious to know what some of your "grail" steelbooks in your collection are or a grail you are still after?

A grail I am still after is probably The Dark Knight steel with Joker on front with white background.

The grail in my collection still remains the Iron Man Steelbook UK play.com exclusive (pic below is not mine)

Mine is Lilo and Stitch but not going to pay more that $70. Maybe Disney will release a 4k steelbook for the 20th anniversary this year.

Ooh that Dark knight white steelbook with Joker on the cover would be nice to own, but Ive given up on that one. I actually own the French digibook with that cover.

I've been pretty lucky with Mondo steelbooks, but I missed out on The Incredibles and Labyrinth. I've yet to find either of them for less than $150. Definitely would have got them, but oh well.

For a long time mine was Mondo Ex Machina, but was able to get that for $50 couple years ago!!

I was on Mercari site a few weeks ago and saw that the Dark Knight steelbook with the Joker and white background had sold for $36 (inc shipping). It had sold about an hour before I ran across it. How much I wish I had been on that site an hour earlier!

I don’t know about grails, but one steelbook that I was really happy to get is the white embossed Ex Machina UK steelbook. I came across someone selling a factory sealed copy for $50USD and I bought it without caring whether I overpaid. It arrived in mint condition and is worth every penny I paid for it. Love that steelbook.

I had a chance to buy The Mist Zavvi steelbook from that same person and passed. Now I regret it. That’s one steelbook I’d really like to get right now.

Edit: I forgot to mention the Zavvi There Will Be Blood steelbook. I'd love to have that one, as well

I'd say my steelbook for Forbidden World. It's no longer in stock and has a better transfer for both cuts over the (suprisingly) still in print older Blu-ray.

I took collecting a bit more seriously when the 4K steels started coming out so I really have not missed any 4K releases I wanted yet. I did sell my zavvi from dusk till dawn blu-ray with Salma on the cover when a 4K steel was announced but so far that 4K seems to be vaporware. If it comes out in 2022 it will be my most anticipated.

No clue if worth much but this is my favorite steelbook I own. Just love the Frank Miller art.


My other would probably be

I got it from a random member back on highdefdigest years ago because he just wanted the discs and threw out the cases. I just waited till a N American release and put that disc in the case.

I guess for "grail" steels I'd like to add, I want the Spider-Man 4k set with the Tobey and Andrew Spideys.

My Grail in my collection is probably my Captain America Civil War Steelbook. I got it used from Amazon only cost me $21.29 and it was the original steelbook that was for sale on best buy.

Mine would most likely be the HDZeta Dark Knight Trilogy Boxset. Managed to sign up for it through their website so thankfully paid retail for it. Took quite awhile to get everything in but it's a pretty darn impressive looking set. Another would be the original Best Buy Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy steelbook set which got back in the day instore.

Simply due to its scarcity, I'm still grateful I bought the Futureshop steelbook (technically, it's an IronPack) for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time when I did in 2013. I've checked eBay periodically, and for the last 5 years, I have never seen it listed for sale. It remains to be the most I've ever spent on a steelbook. This is definitely the Grail of my collection. To compliment it, I have the Dagger of Time prop replica from United Cutlery.



As far as Grail now, I just paid for the second most expensive steelbook that will be in my collection, and that is the HDZeta full-slip of Zack Snyder's Justice League.
