I think im right in saying that the US disc doesn't even have the soundtrack in stereo nevermind 5.1. A film like this needs the audio to be up to scratch as well.

Is there any chance to order this Australian Blu-ray of "Hellraiser IV: Bloodline"? Was looking at Amazon, ebay and couldn't find it.

Not that it makes any difference, the 5.1 it has about as much surround activity as the local BD of The Punisher (1989).

I would strongly advise you to seek out the US version instead. The local one looks pretty bad in comparison. Yes, it only has a stereo soundtrack but if the transfer is bad, a surround track won't make up for it.

Resurrecting a very old thread, but I just pulled the trigger on the 2020-releases of Hellraiser Bloodline, Hellraiser Inferno and Hellraiser Hellseeker from the spanish company "Resen". Specs seem decent. Anyone have any of them and can comment on quality? Otherwise I'll report back with results.

I just got the movies and did some quick sampling. Video looks good and clean, english audio and subtitles seem fine. I'm native region B, so that's not an issue. Could probably test region A if someone wants me to as I have a multi-region player.
I'll watch it in full in a couple of weeks. Awaiting the Turbine original trilogy first. :-) |

Does anyone have the release by 84 Entertainment (not the workprint release)? I have it, and while it's only 1080i, it says the audio options include German 5.1, German 2.0, and English 5.1, both on the back of the metal case and in the menu on the disc. But on my disc, the German audio options are reversed (when you chose 5.1 you get 2.0, when you choose 2.0 you get 5.1, whether you chose it through the menu OR using the audio button on the remote), and the English audio is only 2.0. I'm not sure if this was an error across the board on this release or if my disc happens to be "defective".

I guess this 4k uhd for Hellraiser: Bloodline from '84 Entertainment actually dropped! Looks like there is in fact a very limited, pricey 300-unit box set for about 180 pounds British, loaded with all sorts of swag, from a t-shirts to a pinhead bust. I see that Capsaholic has just posted caps for the 4k uhd disc!!!! (The new transfer itself actually looks overbright and almost filtered.....meh)

Yeah, judging just by the Caps, it's a darned shame. You can easily see that flesh tones look way better than the blu, and the improved contrast yields better depth in some darker scenes. But the loss of detail and the blown-out lighting is very unfortunate if not outright tragic.
