Looks perfect for a small room. I really like Energy's stuff. For the price, most of the line often compares well with other brands in higher price ranges. I've also heard that the RC-Micro 5.1 system sounds pretty good too.

Yeah, these worked out great for my bedroom. They're loud and clear enough for late night enjoyment without annoying the neighbors too much. The sound blend between the sats and the sub is truly excellent. A couple of my friends came by and listened and they were totally shocked at how good they sounded especially when I told them how much I paid.

No RC's but I sporting the C-500's for fronts and C-200 bookshelves for my rears... I have a RC-mini Centre because I could not find the C-C100 to timbre-match, sounds good though !!

Love Energy, I always take a long took at the RC's but am just too happy with the C series to make a change just yet.

Are there any other Reference Connoisseur owners out there?

I'm curious if anyone has the in-wall RC-6W or in-ceiling RC-8C speakers. I'd like to hear your impressions of them. I've been considering a pair as my surround backs.

Also, any Veritas owners here as well? Are they significantly better than the RC line?
I have RC 30 for front channels, RC 10 for rear channels, and RC LCL for center, and have been real pleased with how they preform.
The imaging is very accurate with both movies and music, I would highly recommend this setup to anyone!
As for the Veritas line...they are utterly amazing, a good friend recently bought a system ( cant remember which models) and he is pleased!
Most of the product lines that Energy produce seem to be good value for your dollar IMO, and all of the lines that I have heard over the years seem to preform well.

I've never had the opportunity to hear the "C" Series for myself, but everyone here who has them just loves them.

I have RC-10"s for fronts with the RC-mini Center (The LCR is too big for now).
Hopefully I'll find a good deal on a black pair of RC-mini's for surrounds in the future, but right now I need to save my money for school and other necessities.

I guess there is more Energy owners here than I thought. Good to see!

Nice setup DeadDog! Very clean. The RC-Mini center is bigger than I thought it would be. Nice that it's right next to the PS3 for perspective.

So I recently purchased the Energy Take Classic 5.1 system. Since the speakers have the mini 5-way binding posts, I've seen that the speakers cannot accommodate larger speaker wire.

If I use banana plugs, does the wire gauge matter? I would like to get the speaker wire from someplace cheap like Blue Jeans Cable, but they only have 12 AWG wire. Will 12 AWG wire with banana plugs work with the Take Classic speakers?

Thanks.

If they can take banana plugs, I would think they can take any speaker wire even without the plugs. That being said though, if they can take banana plugs, the plugs will definitely take 12AWG.

Well, just make sure and check- it'll usually say in the description. However, all of them that I've seen take 12AWG.

Energy. Yes!!!

I like classical music and opera. I go the concerts pretty often. And of the speakers I have owned over the past 20 years, the Energy C-series reproduce strings, woodwinds, and brass the closest to the those I hear when I'm at a concert. I had been a big fan of KEF and Tannoy for years which are ones I've kept the longest until I fell in love with Energy speakers.

I have been a happy owner of Energy speakers for several years. The C-series fit my budget quite well and I am very pleased with the sound which is natural, uncolored, and pleasant to the ear. The C-series are under priced for the excellent sound they deliver.

During the past year, when the C-300s were discontinued and the prices dropped, I added a pair of those to replace the C-200s for the fronts. The C-200s became the side surrounds and the C-100s the rears. I have a C-C100 center. The C-300s blended with the C-C100 perfectly too. The C-C100 center produced a lot more bass than the C-200s, and the C-200s as fronts just didn't keep up as well as I would like. The C-C100 makes an excellent center channel with the clear distinct dialogue even well off axis. The sound stage was widened up a lot more after adding the towers.

And just recently, I replaced the C-200s and C-100s with four C-R100 bipoles for the side and rear surrounds. The sonic improvement I obtained was even better than the upgrade from the C-200s to C-300s for the fronts. Those bipoles provided a more realistic theater like experience for the sound while watching movies.

old setup.. I'm not running a home theater at the moment as I'm kind of in transition, just the RC-10's on my PC. My RC-30's are Cherry in the picture but I have Rosenut ones now for when I set up a home theater again.

Congrats! I don't know where you found them (C-500s). They are hard to come by. Believe me, you'll love them.

The C-500s were still around when I bought my C-300s last year. But the dealers were asking about 3X the price of a pair of C-300s. I gave up and bought a pair of C-300s. If you have a larger room, the C-500s are what you need.

BTW, where did you buy the C-500s?
