Default Studio motivation for re-releasing catalog titles as Steelbooks?

Have you guys noticed any trends in how and when studios release steelbooks of their catalog titles that might give insight into their motivations? I mean, aside from the obvious one of making money. I just saw a Christine steelbook announced, and this is right before Scream Factory will be releasing their usual spiffy version. Then I notice studios releasing individual Steelbooks of films that are available much, much cheaper as collections.

What's the deal here?

I think you may have confused Christine with Carrie?

Most of the time catalog titles released as steelbooks are so they can sell discs that were repackaged from unsold amaray releases.

What motivation aside from making money could there be?
