There is also a link to The Wall, but there's no release date yet.

More information can be found at Why Pink Floyd...? website.

Full details aren't available yet, but looking at the product images on Amazon reveals that each set is a mix of CDs, DVDs and BDs. Some of the DVDs appear to show 5.1 and Quad mixes (in 448 and 640 kbps) and LPCM stereo mixes.

The sets also contain collectible booklets, photos and merchandise.

I eagerly await the full specs for these sets.

some very rare bonus tracks and outtakes would be awesome!

The EMI press release does offer a release date for The Wall:

http://www.emimusic.com/news/2011/pi...omment-page-1/

Quote:
‘The Wall’, which has sold 25-million double sets and has become a cultural and political touchstone over the last three decades, will be afforded the same exhaustive treatment on February 27, 2012, with deluxe packages including a 7-disc ‘Immersion’ set and a 3-disc ‘Experience’ edition. A collectors’ vinyl LP will also be available, as will various digital formats.

The statement "various digital formats" better include a Blu-ray version for The Wall (the movie).

Anyway, great find and I'll be following this with extreme interest!

Press release doesn't say anything about movie. I'll be picking up SACDs.

Well, I wouldn't count on it. The immersion sets seem priced at what I would expect for such boxes these days. I love how they pad these things out with the likes of scarves and coasters.

Is anything other than WYWH getting a SACD? I presume that is what Acoustic Sounds will be releasing.

I want The Wall movie! I must have 25-30 copies of various PF releases, and I'll gladly buy some more, but damn it....give me the movie of The Wall on BD...I want that more than anything!

I'm not sure if EMI including "The Wall" movie is a simple matter, as the rights are owned by Sony.

I'm more interested in earlier Floyd stuff, such as Meddle and Obscured by Clouds.

Yeah I found this album a bit ridiculous in 2-channel what with the full orchestration, but I think multichannel remastering/remixing could breathe new life into it and I'll give it another chance. I did like the cuts sans orchestra. Obscured by Clouds was always my favorite, though.

I prob have about 5 different version of DSOTM, I also have Shine on and Oh by the Way box sets. Wonder if I should get this new set or not , they sure do look appealing and they are newly remastered

I really wish the "Experience" version included the BD or there was a way to purchase it separately. I don't really need scarves, coasters, and more versions of DSOTM on CD, but I'd love to have the Blu.
