Default FX's "American Horror Story: 1984" (Season 9)

From the guys behind Nip/Tuck and Glee comes American Horror Story tonight on the F/X Network. Hope it is good.

From the previews this looks pretty good, already have it set to record on the DVR.

I rarely turn on anything on F/X but I think they have a real winner with this show. Did anyone else notice the Alfred Hitchcock music at the end; sounded like it was from "Vertigo?"

I'm a little hesitant only because I hate supporting someone as untalented as Murphy.

I loved that there were people from True Blood, Six Feet Under, Kick Ass and Vampire Diaries. And when the kid (Evan Peters) was walking down the hallway and they played Twisted Nerve from Kill Bill

So far I'm liking it

If you don't like Glee, Nip/Tuck or anything else he's done I'm not sure why you would consider this

I honestly don't know how I feel about it. I do know I left with a strange feeling afterwards which intrigues me a little. I liked a lot of the elements and the style of shooting was interesting. The acting was great and the parties involved are a reason to keep watching alone. I think this has a chance to at least be good even if it doesn't last.

I liked it. I'm definitely going to keep watching. I'm just not sure how it would continue beyond a season. Do you keep the actors? Do you keep the house? Do you change everything?

Plus there was some mysterious gimp guy who nailed the guys wife!

You can really tell this from the guy who created Nip/tuck

I think the burned guy and the gimp guy are one and the same.

I liked the first two and a half seasons of Nip/Tuck but didn't like the direction the show took or how they wrapped up "the mystery" of the Carver case. And I totally disagree with how they took advantage of kids committing suicide to lead whatever agenda Murphy had and made millions off of it.

The success of Ryan Murphy astounds me! But I've heard reasonably good things about this which is why I asked.

I really liked the first episode. This is right up my alley though as I am a huge horror buff. I think this show is gonna be really good. Got Em!!

First episode is good. It actually could be a quality innovation in horror, as the show is filled to the brim with fairly common horror tropes, but how it all plays out over time may distinguish the show from more typical horror films (which are too-often unremarkable).

My initial hope is that this season is comprised of good, tight episodes which tell a complete story, with any subsequent season(s) starting fresh with a new cast, situation, plot, etc. So we'll see...
