For anyone trying to lose weight, less sugar is important too. Try cutting back on soda and replacing that with better alternatives for most of the time. I love Coconut water, for example, which is low calorie with only a little sugar. Or ICE drinks which are flavored but calorie and sugar free.

Havenít done that since. But Iíve lost 30 pounds in 3 months and am now trying to work out 30-40 minutes a day. I agree with those saying itís mainly a calorie intake and exercise related test to losing weight.

You also need to make sure to drink loads of water (including before/after meals) and to have more veggies and fiber.
Drinking water is important but you can drink too much. Check with your doctor to see how much water you actually need each day.

Depends what you classify as 'to much water'. Depending on gender and climate you should be drinking between 1.2/2 litres of water per day, maybe slightly more in very hot climates.

No matter how you change your diet, if you are serious about wanting to lose weight you need to do an hour of non-stop, rigorous exercise every day. Non-stop means that walking from your couch to the refrigerator doesn't count, walking ~2 miles without stopping counts. The rigorous part mean keeping your heart rate elevated around 100 bpm. If you are obese, walking will get your heart rate into that range, if you are skinny you may need to take up jogging or another physically more intense activity.

Throwing a number like 100 bpm out there is just stupid as is the rest of this individual's advice. Exercise of ANY kind is good for you. The kind suggested could lead to a heart attack if you're out of shape. As for the heart rate...everybody is different. You have to calculate what your heart rate should be. Here's an article about it.
