Post 3D Gaming Discussion Thread / TriDef 3D / PowerDVD / Nvidia 3D Vision / etc.

The benefit of having Dead Space 3 on my PC is that I can run it through the TriDef 3D software and get a pretty good approximation of what this game would have looked like if programme in 3D since it uses the Direct3D z axis calls to formulate its 3D depth.

And..... it looks fantastic. The pacing and movement of Dead Space is slow enough it doesn't cause any of the eye strain people complain about. The outside, floating in space sections look phenomenal and have great depth which really sells the illusion and immersion. It just feels so much better. And yeah, the tentacles are a really awesome effect in 3D.

This really should be an exemplary 3D game for the consoles to show off. It has lots of upside without most of the frequent detractions because of the nature of the game; pity EA and Visceral didn't see that.

No Sir, oh no, not for me. I am still reeling from the horror of DS1which I stopped playing within an hour. DS3 in 3D is out of question

Default Recently got nvidia 3d vision all i can say is WOW

Recently got me a 3d graphics card and bought 3dtv play, and now the ability to play almost any pc game in 3d is just too fun. so far i have played alot of Resident Evil 4, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Silent hill 2, 3 (wich didnt work out as well as i had hoped. the games are too dark) and DmC devil may cry (seriously amazing in 3d the colors just scream for it) i wish ps3 had this many stereo 3d games i can pretty much buy any game i want and play it in 3d just loving it

Is 3DTV play required for playing 3D blu-rays? I have an Nvidia GTX460 and if I connect an LG passive 3dtv that is not supported by nvidia's 3dtv play, can I still play 3D BDs using PowerDVD or TotalMedia Theatre?

I've heard the GTA games are crazy awesome in 3D. I recommend giving those a try (or google GTA4 3D).

Is there a reason why this thread is posted in the 3D Blu-ray Movies section and not in 3D Technology, News and General Discussion?

I don't like the ps3 for 3D gaming. PC is much much better. The ps3 has everything fixed behind the screen.

im loving it on the pc... since i can pretty much play any game i want in 3d, i dont have to worry about the support for it getting dropped like most recent ps3 games. I dont have to miss out any longer
