As long as you have the fire flower, 8-4 is relatively easy imo.

Though as little Mario, it’s basically impossible to get past Bowser.

I've played the NES and SNES classic editions a few times, but they've mostly stayed in the box. The PlayStation Classic has never been hooked up and has sat in the box too. I otherwise don't play any other videogames. I'm going to try to play them more this year.

I can say categorically that level 6-4 in SMB is harder than level 8-4.

...by a wide margin.

I tried to do the 99 lives trick on 3-1 a couple of times, but itís too damn tricky.

The 4 to 8 warp is the best way to beat the game, period. Too many ways to die between worlds 5-8.

I think it’s basically impossible to get past Bowser in 6-4 or 8-4 without having the fire flower, or at least being giant Mario.

If you try to jump over the top, you’ll get nailed by the hammers.

And if you try to time it and speed run underneath, you’ll almost certainly get hit by one of the flames.

The problem is that it’s really difficult to get through the gauntlet of winding fireballs as giant Mario without touching one of them.

...anyone ever get through either of those levels with little Mario?

Also I refuse to believe that some random player discovered the 99 lives turtle trick on 3-1.

Itís too random, well hidden and difficult to pull off.

...had to be leaked out by one of the programmers.

I also have one of the rarer NES dogbone controllers from the top load machine. I bought a top loader when they came out for my grandmother (she loved her Tetris) but she wanted the original controller so found her one and hung onto the redesign controller. I'd like to know what my uncle did with that console so rare now.
When connected to a Wii Remote controller, the NES Classic Controller can also be used to play Virtual Console NES games on a Wii U or Wii system. Playing these retro games using a retro controller makes the experience that much more authentic

I'm planning on selling off my NES & SNES classics since they are both sitting here collecting dust.

That's what they've basically become. I'll just look to sell them.

I'm somewhat surprised to hear that, as I use mine several times a week. Of course I hacked my Euro-model SNES Mini to add 100 NES/Famicom and 100 SNES/SFC games to it, which probably does help explain why I'm still playing mine.
