Australia Krull (1983) - May 1, 2019

First time worldwide with both OAR and English subtitles:

https://www.umbrellaent.com.au/comin...l-blu-ray.html

Also from the announcement on Facebook:

"Umbrella Entertainment’s Blu-ray edition of KRULL is from an all-new master and presented in its original aspect ratio of 2.35:1 alongside two commentary tracks and array of other extras sure to please die-hard fans".

Not a fan, but will have to get this!
Not quite WW. The US has had it out for five years now...

Think he meant the subs as well.
The Mill Creek has none.

The UK HMV Premium Collection version of Krull with all the extras and OAR will be coming later this year as well.

If it's just a port of the Mill Creek edition but with subtitles, then the majority of customers will be very happy with their purchase.

I really hope so! AFAIK the two Bogey titles and The Ten Commandments have PC release dates, but nothing yet regarding the corrected aspect ratio release of Krull?

I remember watching this in my early teens. I’ll have to get it for nostalgia, if nothing else.

It's a newer master than the Mill Creek release and in the original aspect ratio.

For those who prefer the original poster art, it'll be on the reverse, sans that Classification logo that we all know and don't love

Cheers

The Mill Creek is in the original 2.39:1. It was prepared by Sony, who decided not to bother releasing it, and gave it to Mill Creek, and is streets ahead of their usual crap transfers.

Interesting - will double check that with the powers that be in case I've misinterpreted.

Mill Creek cover is still the best, with correct title font/color and awesome original tag line intact, but I'll definitely be picking up either the Umbrella or upcoming U.K. version too.

Please let us know as soon as you get a chance what you think of the transfer. Wondering if there is anywhere cheaper than direct from Umbrella to import...

Ended up ordering one from JB Hi-Fi (about $17 US shipped) and it arrived today. Region B locked. Same transfer as the Mill Creek disc. Couldn't tell off the bat if there is any difference compression-wise. Same extras as the DVD minus the photo galleries.

What a disappointment. Didn't they say that they did a complete new scan?
