Whoa...My Bloody Valentine and now AFD.

Interesting to say the least, absolutely nothing on the Shock site about either though. I've contacted them to get some details, will post back if I hear anything.

Oh man I hope this is true. Arrow got The Sender from Paramount (maybe they’ll come out with their own domestic release??) I would grab this in a second, it was one of the first slashers I ever saw.

I hope this means more Paramount titles are being licensed out. April Fool’s Day and The Dead Zone are long overdue for proper blu-ray releases (and in the case of AFD, long overdue for a release PERIOD.)

Second that, and I would also like to add that the Dolby True HD 5.1 is pretty impressive on Australian release. The dialogue sounds crystal clear to my ears and LFE-channel does bounching really good as well. I really don't want to go back to mono after that, even if its the original.

And back to the main news of course: GREAT news to say at least IF its really going to happen!? April Fool's Day has been coming and coming and coming and...

I'd wait for that upcoming Scream Factory release of MBV, personally. At least it'll have bonus content.

Australia April Fool's Day (1986)

April Fool's Day (1986)

When Muffy St. John invited her college friends up to her parents' secluded island home for the time of their lives, she just forgot to tell them it just might be the last time of their lives. As soon as the kids arrive on the island, someone starts trimming the guest list...one murder at a time. And what starts out as a weekend of harmless "April Fool's Day" pranks turns into a bloody battle for survival.

Disc is barebones, with no special features, no trailers, not even chapter stops. Sadly audio is only DD and the picture is cropped to 1.78.1 after the opening credits.

BDinfo:

Code:
Disc Title: April Fools Day
Disc Label: April Fools Day
Disc Size: 15,777,542,639 bytes
Protection: AACS
Playlist: 01001.MPLS
Size: 15,701,864,448 bytes
Length: 1:29:00.335
Total Bitrate: 23.52 Mbps
Video: MPEG-4 AVC Video / 21996 kbps / 1080p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / High Profile 4.1
Audio: English / Dolby Digital Audio / 5.1 / 48 kHz / 448 kbps / DN -31dB

For the most part, however the picture looks reasonably good and the tight cropping is only really apparent in one or two instances. With a little oversharpening here and there that isn't too intrusive, but does show some telltale signs of EE. The real demon is the compression, which is typically poor from shock. This disc is entirely watchable considering it's a Worldwide Exclusive.
