I’d rather have them organized in my own thread.

Why, other than for egocentric reasons? More people who are interested in a particular release would see them in the individual threads, surely?

That’s fine because I also posted them in each film’s thread.

What do people use to take 4k screens? I'm assuming vlc or mpc?

MPC-BE with MadVr. It took me a while to get HDR settings right, but once I did I thought they turned out nicely. My goal is to eventually take screenshots of every UHD in my collection. I’m definitely going to need more hard drives.

Interesting, thanks! Why mad vr? Wouldn't mpc's screenshot tool work just fine?

No, you have to madvr to pass through the HDR. Also, VLC won’t capture the HDR metadata and PowerDVD won’t let you do screen captures at 4K resolution.

hi, wanna ask, do you use MPC-BE's screenshot key or other methods? MadVR has screenshot render options but there isn't a key for it if i'm not mistaken.

i tried Game Bar but it did not capture correctly, same with normal Printscreen.

Yep, I use the F5 key in MPC-BE. It takes practice to avoid motion blur as well as a steady hand, but I've been doing this for about 12 years now.

If you've got the disc ripped to your hard drive, you can use Xbox Game Bar, too, to take both HDR and SDR screenshots in 4K.

If you are in the UK, Western Digital were selling their 14 TB elements drive for £199.

Right, but they're not portable and require external power. The best are the 5TB Seagate portable drives and they hold about 150 BDs or about 100 UHDs.

No contest. I preferred powered ones as they go well with media players and tend to have better drives inside than the portable ones but to each their own.

I disagree. The portability combined with not needing external power are huge conveniences. Also, in my experience I’ve had worse luck with powered drives.
