I enjoyed the movie. In fact, this thread has me thinking, since my wife is gone shopping for a few hours, maybe I'll stick Daredevil in and re-watch it.

The fight on the playground was an unforgivable piece of movie making. Just absurd on so many levels.

I'm one of those that really didn't like it. DD did not for me. I didn't care about the characters. I remember scene with him and Elektra in the park being very annoying to me.

Yeah that was just strange. It was as if someone on the production side had recently seen a film like Tai Chi Master and thought, "Hey! We could do something like that in our Daredevil movie! And of course, our director is just as good at shooting action as Yuen Woo Ping! And our leads, Affleck and Garner, are AT LEAST as talented as Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh! Let's do it!!!"

Well, we could probably go further with that and so All Action Movies - however, that doesn't mean all common sense has to be thrown out.

It was just plain dumb. There wasn't anything good about that scene and I think it lowered my IQ after watching it.

I love Daredevil. The Director's Cut is fantastic, and I really urge anyone who disliked the theatrical version to give the DC a shot, as it's darker, meatier, and features a whole subplot that goes a long way toward establishing Murdock's relationship with Kingpin. I think Affleck did a great job in the role, too; ultimately, I fear he was a victim of the "Bennifer" relationship that ruled the tabloids and resulted in Gigli (much like Kevin Smith's not-nearly-as-bad-as-people-make-it-sound Jersey Girl).

I can't criticize too much because I have a UMD copy for my PSP (in my defence, it was a freebie as part of a B1G1F offer at Circuit City, and it was something I had to settle for, thanks to the lousy selection at the time )

You're right: it's cheesy and mindless, but it is somewhat entertaining (I think I'll watch anything with Nicolas Cage and/or Sam Elliott). I guess this meets the definition of a guilty pleasure (because I watched this on the FX channel recently )

Daredevil sucked because it was extremely corny. None of the characters were done in a way that made you actually care about them. It was just a very amateur movie in almost every aspect. Bullseye is the worst. His opening scene in the bar .. and almost every scene with him is a big cringe. Cringe as in .. facepalm moment.
hahaha i completely agree with everything you just said haha. this movie sucked

What's ironic is Don Cheadle was an enemy henchmen in that movie. Who knew he would someday end up playing War Machine later on

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Elektra, that was a spin-off of Daredevil, and from what I heard, it was also pretty bad.

Hahah! Well, not really...I do like his films for the most part, though!! He's proven to be a pretty solid director, however! Gone Baby Gone was quite good!!

He gets extra points for being a Sox fan

I thought Daredevil was an ok movie.

The Director's cut is definitely better.

I thought Affleck was fine, though I don't really get the hate for him everyone seems to have.

That being said, it seems a follow up of this version isn't coming so I'd welcome a newer reboot version.

I watched it theatrically, hated it. Then tried to re-watch the DC upon request from another poster that shared your sentiments, and couldn't even make it through the film again. It's just terrible!

Its not one of the best movies made but its one of my favorite movies starring Ben Affleck thats for sure. I for one would like to know why some people hate it so bad but some people have their likes and dislikes. Again for me its one of my favorites.

Elektra started out as Mark Johnson defensively rallying enough underground loyal support to his movie to propose a "Well, the story will pick up once we're past the origin!" DD sequel--
And then Fox's nervous fears giving way to boardroom "Ehh, fans probably just liked the sword-babe who got all the press, why bother with the trimmings?"

And testament to DD that fans hated Elektra because it WASN'T the comic-book character, and the generic director they picked didn't have what little integrity Johnson could give his Marvel movies.
Basically, "So, guess the first film doesn't look so bad now, does it? "

The good news for those that hate/dislike it is that it is supposedly being rebooted (along with Fantastic Four).
