That's true - in Germany, only the first 3 seasons have been released by Universal on DVD (in US and UK, they had released all 5).

Honestly, it's ok to argue over something that you've experienced first hand. But in this case we've done quite some tests to find out about compression.

So, I'd recommend waiting for reviews. We're also happy to send samples to the usual suspects. Atm.

Blu-ray.com "currently" has 93 blu-ray listings from Turbine Medien; some of which are standard definition on blu-ray. I'm a usual suspect, but since I have no connections— (no freebie) samples being sent my way— I'm going to hold off until more information surfaces on the Elephant Films 'France' blu-ray addition...

...of course, unless the reviews are 'high' on this one.

My point is, I've never heard of Turbine Medien until these handful of posts. Turbine appears to be "relatively small" to the blu-ray market. My entire post indicated that there is another blu-ray option in the making for the SMDM television series.

This upcoming Turbine Medien release "may" turn out to be a lemon. If that should be the case, it's nice that consumers have another possible buying option... (L'Homme qui Valait 3 Milliards) from Elephant Films of France.

My position has been pretty clear; I would like to wait until the Turbine Medien blu-ray has been released, then wait for incoming consumer reviews...

Is there a problem with this?

Would it be ok for you if the rest of us would continue with the conversation? Even if you're waiting for consumer reviews. I mean, if nobody gives this a try, it's going to be hard re consumer reviews as samples sent out to reviewers would not qualify as consumer reviews. Just want to make sure we're not taking the discussion further if we shall remain quiet...

I thought I had wrapped things up with Blu-ray.com member jimdigriz earlier. My departing though was/is this...
I am hopeful too.

Well, assuming that we get a Bionic Woman set here sometime soon to fill in the blanks, this might be a tasty upgrade.

That will be reason enough not to buy it as Kill Oscar Part 2 is a SMDM episode.

Does this mean because 1 and 3 are Bionic Woman we won't get any or will we get just Part 2?

Here a in-hand test will be necessary. Turbine's authoring studio often seems to forget to include regional encoding.

Any plans to do an HD version of the Bionic Woman in the future as well?

Wondering if the HD transfer Universal did is good/great, and if they did restore the transfer anyway.

Yes, it's pretty good considering age and that this was a TV show. It carries over some imperfections, e.g. stock footage used in the 70s, coming from even older libraries, which you'll spot instantly. But this is how the show was produced and edited. Some shots just look gorgeous and the only thing reminding you of that this was made for TV is the aspect ratio.

Have you seen other Blu-Rays of Universal TV shows? All of them look pretty good/superb, even if they are older HD masters, they're nice upgrades over DVD (Battlestar Galactica, Incredible Hulk, Buck Rogers, Columbo, Quantum Leap, etc.). I'd expect this to be on that level just based on every other Universal show from that era that's been released in HD so far.

Hulk is one of the best TV transfers out there, seriously! Amazing from start to finish.

Reading through this thread there seems to be no confirmation from Turbine about Kill Oscar. The impression I get is that no crossovers will be included but IIRC Part 2 is a genuine SMDM episode. So what's happening?
