No kidding, even if it just gives you some peace of mind (placebo affect or not).

The peace of mind is the greatest.

Since Monster doesn't make them anymore, I should be looking into a newer replacement. I've had the Monster 2400 and 1800 since 2009/2010..

Yeah, you and I both. I have had my Belkin since 2011.....my entire HT has been in storage for the last 2 years.....but in a few months (June) I can finally break it back out and get it set up again (with a new OLED TV, AVR and 4k UHD player to boot).

How do you like your Denon 6700? I am planning to get the 3800. Only had Pioneer Elite until now.

It was kinda weird at first. Using the Onkyo before this, I was able to use the internal amp for my front stage and have some 2 channel amps for pre-outs for the rest.

The Denon isn't set for that, it's either a stand alone AVR or an AV using the pre-outs only. You can't do both with the 6700, and that's why I bought the Outlaw 7channel amp. I only use one of my previous 2channel with the 7channel.

OK, I see.....the most important thing is if it works for you and you like the power/sound you are getting.

I plan to continue to use my 3 Emo monoblocks to power the 3 up front, and let the 3800 power the surrounds and Atmos speakers (I forgot to mention I am upgrading to an Atmos set up by getting new SVS height speakers as well. Thinking of a 5.2.4 set up. )

Make sure the 3800 isn't the same as the 6700 being either avr or av if any of the pre-outs are used.

I was suppose to add 2 more speakers for my Atmos( to make it 7.2.4), but my money went elsewhere... lol

I decided to get my drone, which I do love. I then decided to get myself a 2stage snow blower, which my neighbors probably appreciate more than I do. Ryobi 2stage is a battery powered, so this winter when it snowed(only 4times) I wanted to test how long the batteries last, and I ended up doing most of my neighbors snow.

Also, playing around with my drone, flew above the house and it looks like I need a new roof... lol

You like your toys! I know other guys that love their drones as well. Good thing you got what snow you had to use the Ryobi...we only got .3" of snow all winter here near Philly (snowed one time all winter, if you can call it that).

I believe I can split up the amplification, as I have the following 2 options:

Quote:
Speaker Connection
Selects which speaker and/or pre-out terminals to use for each channel.

Select the connection
Speaker + Pre-out
(De*fault):

Speaker and pre-out out*puts are ac*tive.

You can use the “Speaker Connection” setting to disconnect the built-in power circuit of each channel individually and use just your favorite channel as the Preamplifier.

Pre-out Only:

Pre-out out*puts are ac*tive. Speaker out*puts are dis*con*nected for en*hanced audio qual*ity using only the pre-out ter*mi*nals.

This can not be set when “Amp Assign” is set to “Preamplifier”.

I am having a townhouse built right now, which comes with all new appliances...I will have no need to fix or update anything with house for at least the next 10 years!!

I've been here 13yrs, so it's time... lol

Speaking of piece of mind, I did get myself 2 different kinds of power backup for my home, so when the power goes out, I'm good.

I use battery backup, so I don't have to deal with gas or loud noises bothering my neighbors or myself.

Since I have a ton of 40v batteries for my yard equipment, I gotten that Ryobi 1800 power inverter. I also have a Ecoflow. I bought both with Plans to return the one I didn't like, but each one has its pro and cons that I decided to keep both.
And, they have proven themselves a few times when power went out.

Sounds like you got yourself covered.

By the way, I did find the following about the Denon 4700 on the Audio Science website. Not sure if this is true or not, but it almost sounds like you can select what channels you want for external amplification.

Quote:
The X4700H has a pre-amp mode that disconnects all 9 channels of the internal power amps. If you only want to disconnect the FL and FR channels then you can use the amp assign feature. Otherwise, if you use the pre-amp mode then it will disconnect all channels.
Forget it....you have the 6700...but you would think the upper end units would have this feature if the lower ones do.

It supposedly sounds better using the pre-outs and haing the internal amps turned off, but I never tested. Actually, I only thought about testing but it was too much work and I didn't.... lol

Also,
Mandalorian looks freaking FANTASTIC on the ole OLED!!!
GEEEZ!!! others looks good too, but damn Mandalorian... wow!!

I am truly jealous, I bet it looks fantastic

My current LCD TV in storage is from 2009.....it is so old, it does not even have any apps, LOL! I am sure I will be blown away when I get the OLED. Although my eyes are not the best in detecting visual imperfections when it comes to a TV.

I am really looking forward to getting my new OLED....either a 65" LG G2 or maybe the Sony 65" A95K for an extra $600....not sure which one, as both get good reviews.

I wouldn't worry bad eyes when seeing the difference, the pop will be there. When watching movies/shows I'm in a totally dark room, pitch black and when the screen goes dark, the room is dark. No pale back lit screen, just darkness to where you can't see the edges of the TV, then when it lights up, and you dare to say something about bad eyes...... it won't happen.

It maybe too late, but this is now confusing to me. I was under the impression that it was either stand alone AVR or pre-outs only. Reading a few things it seems it can be both.

I think I need to re-watch the youtube vid that had me thinking one or the other.
