So, to anyone here who both ordered this *AND* have the older Koch Media German DVD release of the film... how does the blu-ray compare? While the Koch Media DVD was possibly the best the film looked on DVD (especially compared to the muddy Italian DVD, and the decent looking but cut Japanese DVD), the contrast seemed a bit blown out in spots and the colors, while vibrant, seemed to lean a pinch greenish/yellowish. I was hoping this new blu-ray is more balanced in its white/black levels and colors overall. Thanks for any info!

they are very reliable, and a great way to get German releases if they have them. Trying to find out what they actually have can be pretty frustrating, but I think you'll find most people that have used them are very pleased with their service. They are definitely way cheaper than amazon.de due to the fact you can get free shipping by ordering 2 bds at the same time.

If you order from Amazon.de and you are outside of Europe you pay 19% less than the price shown on Amazon plus shipping to the US is only 3 Euro.

Really? Hmm, I'll have to do some math Also, I translated one review on Amazon.de and it sounded *very* promising. The only beef they had apparently had something to do with the German dub, but apparently everything else was perfect!

The prices on amazon.de include the sales tax and if you order from the US they remove the sales tax before charging your card.

I am waiting for my order. I ordered this and the Juan Of The Dead Mediabook.

Good point... I did a "ghost order" and the total, after conversion, looks to be under $27 from Amazon.de. I may bite, as this is the first time the film has been released uncut on video in its original 110 minute film speed runtime (uncut has always been PAL on video at 106 minutes) as well as allegedly having the uncut English track. As I mentioned before, I know the English track was prepared for a cut longer than the American release, as there are two scenes in the fanmade "Franco Cleef edition" that have the original English voice acting but in scenes missing from the US cut.

You can get more blus and your shipping will stay the same. It's 3 euro up to 1 kg, that's pretty cheap. I wanted to get something from Canada and one blu is over $10 in shipping...........

Hmm... any blus anyone can suggest that are currently only in Germany or blu-rays better than other versions? Wasn't the German blu-ray of Saw supposed to be superior to the US one? Hmm...

Yeah I also think highly of The Great Silence. But still prefer TBG

Don't know if any of these interest you but my order included the following BD's which aren't available in the US or UK

Navajo Joe
Man of the West
The Legend of Hell House
The Howling
The Haunted Palace

Thanks for the suggestions. I remember Legend of Hell House being a good one (and also one of the inspirations for Edgar Wright's "Don't" trailer for Grindhouse), and while I've yet to see Navajo Joe, I bought the soundtrack thanks to Kill Bill Vol 2

Aside from this, has TBG been delivered to anyone yet? I'm most curious as to whether or not the English dub is uncut or if they had to fill gaps using the Italian audio.

I got it. They replaced it with italian audio just like the dvd-bootlegs.

Nevertheless, the video quality is perfect. This is really a gem of a release. On of 2012 best so far.

Boo... what about the scene with Corbett and the monk/former-gunfighter as well as the scene with Cuchillo and his wife? Those two scenes were dubbed (as shown in the "Franco Cleef" version), but ultimately cut from the US version.

And don't get me wrong, I'll most likely still plunk down for this anyway, as I already have the German DVD (Italian cut) and the Japanese DVD (US Cut), and upgrading to HD would be great.

Great news on the video quality. Would you happen to know if the blu ray is region free? Been trying to find out, but no word from anyone yet.
