Default 720p TV with HDR... How does it look/work?

I was looking for a TV for my garage when I found this one. 720p doesn't bother me on a little TV, but I'm curious about the HDR. Is it a gimmick or will it be noticeable? Is HDR only available with 4K content?

Netflix has HDR content on some non 4K shows. I think Microsoft Video and Apple also have HDR on some non 4K content as well.

Typically HDR is featured and utilize on 4K TVs, 4K UHD blu-rays and 4K network programming. HDR is very noticeable. It makes the whites brighter, the colors and blacks darker and more detailed.

Consumer Reports recommends the TV, but the HDR is disappointing due to a lack of adequate brightness.
CR's Take
This 32-inch entry-level 720p smart TV from LG, a non-4K set that nonetheless supports HDR technology, offers satisfying high-def picture quality. While it's only one of a handful of 720p sets we've tested that support HDR content (both HDR10 and HLG formats), it lacks sufficient brightness to do it any justice. The TV has a wider-than-average viewing angle for an LCD TV, but like many sets this size it has below-average sound. This model has LG's webOS smart TV platform, and supports both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice-powered digital assistants.

Back in April, I bought a TCL 32" Class HD LED Android Smart TV 3-Series (32S21) from Walmart for $70. Just got around to opening the box today. It's a 720p TV with the Android/Google TV interface.

When I sampled a few shows on Disney+, I was shocked that the screen displayed that HDR was activated during those shows. HDR isn't an advertised feature on this TV.

I was even able to pair my Google Pixel Buds to it. It's a very cool little TV.

That's interesting. I don't know if it's possible but it would be cool if you could compare SDR and HDR content on your TV.

I'll have to dive into the menu tomorrow to see if I can turn it off.
