I close on the house is just over 2 weeks.....its coming real fast. I have spent thousands with Amazon in the last week and hauling a sh*tload of boxes to my storage unit daily.

I have Best Buy's TotalTech plan, so the plan is for them to put the TV on the wall for me. However, that means I am limited to getting it at Best Buy, and all of them around me no longer have the LG C2 77" TV in stock. So, now I will need to pony up the extra $800 for the 77" G2. Not thrilled about it, but I don't really have any options. For Atmos, I plan to buy 4 of the SVS Elevation speakers.

https://www.svsound.com/products/prime-elevation
yea it’s not ideal But I lucked out on shipping as my boss showed me Saturday that he can have it shipped from my work for only about $10 (!!). USPS quoted me $114.90, so that’s a huge savings. I’ll try to get it out today or tomorrow; just waiting on them to call me back/give me an RMA & the correct shipping address.

The G2 is more expensive but I’ve seen some recent videos and that one is probably the last one you’ll ever get.

As for the Atmos speakers, those are the same 4 I have so you’ll be fine there.

I found this on the BB FAQ:
"Best Buy Totaltech™ only covers installation services on devices purchased at Best Buy and when the installation services are added in the same transaction. However, you’ll save 20% on labor for in-home setup and standard installation of eligible products you’ve already purchased, no matter where you bought them."

Good deal....save $100 on the shipping.

Yeah, the G2 is a bit brighter than the C2, but I am sure it is not $800 brighter.

Those SVS speakers really are the only bookshelf type cabinet speakers I have seen with a bracket that allows you to connect the plugs for Atmos. Others seem to not allow for enough clearance on the back. The total amount it looks like I will be spending for the TV, AVR, Atmos Speakers and 4K Player is around $6,000.

Oh, and did I mention that I need to drop another $6,000 for a dining room set, tables, bedroom set and an entertainment rack? I am getting all of that from Wayfair and I am paying for them to put it all together too. (Lets not forget my son is going to live with me now too...so I have to get his bedroom stuff as well.)

You Could “consider” this new model from TCL that’s gotten RAVE Reviews from some very reputable places on YouTube AND RTings.com. Digital Trends on YouTube (hosted by Caleb Denison) is one you should look up to see what they had to say.

CL 75-Inch QM8 QLED 4K Smart Mini LED TV with Google TV (75QM850G, 2023 Model) Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, HDR Ultra, Game Accelerator up to 240Hz, Voice Remote, Works with Alexa, Streaming Television - just $1799 with a very recent $500 drop!

Model#: 75QM850G

Just purchased 4 of these speakers from SVS. They really were the only speakers that could be put up on the ceiling for Atmos that had the right type of bracket for allowing the speaker wire to be hooked up to the speaker. All other Atmos speakers are either built into the ceiling or the brackets dont allow enough clearance for the speaker wire to connect to the terminals.

Next up, will be the Denon 3800 AVR and the Panasonic 820 4K Player. I wish I could test my old equipment (especially the Emotiva monoblock amps) but they were put back into the original boxes and in an environmentally controlled room at the storage facility for the last 2 years, so they should be fine IMO.

Wow, I really like the design of those speakers. I have no idea about the build quality or sound, but the mounting options and bracket configuration seems well planned. It appears like they could work well in a room that has a vaulted ceiling thereby necessitating high wall-mount Atmos speakers instead of in the ceiling. (Vaulted ceiling mounted Atmos speakers seem like kind of a pain, especially if one doesn't have access to run wires inside the ceiling up each part of the vault. Speaking from experience haha.)

Just checking in as I haven't been on in a while (took an online mental break). Glad to see things are moving along! Can't wait to see once you have it all setup!

I almost went with those as well. I went with a different speaker (still front/rear height), and based on my experience I think the Prime Elevation will work out nicely! I much prefer front/rear height (especially in the upfiring position as long as mounted high closer to the ceiling) vs ceiling speakers as it produces a more diffused sound. It really really fills the void above and is very "airy", but somehow it still images really well.

Hey red....yes, things are moving along. Moving is such a logistic nightmare. I am constantly making sure anything ordered and shipped via FedEx/USPS/UPS is shipped to my old address (which I then have to make frequent trips to the storage unit), and then making sure anything shipped freight is delivered to the new address since they are the larger/heavier items I bought from Wayfair and will have the guys from "Angi" provide the labor to put it all together. I paid extra, but its a lot less I have to do and then I can focus on setting up/aesthetics of the HT in the living room.

I hear ya. I'm normally too much of a cheapskate to pay for assembly, but if I had a bunch of stuff coming at once, my laziness would overpower my cheapskateness.

I like Wayfair. My wife has bought a few things from there. I can easily get myself in trouble if I spend too much time on that site. I've been thinking about getting a new desk for the office, but I'm afraid to visit their website.

I got one for myself. One that powers up and down so I can stand if needed.

Nice! That's exactly what I'm thinking of getting. I have a manual now, but I want a powered stand up.

We have those motorized standing desks in our cubicles here at work, but I can't use mine for standing, because of my bad knees.

I remember a while ago before standing desks were a thing, we had manual stand up desks with a crank. That would have been early 2000s. It took maybe a couple of minutes to get it from sitting position to standing (I'm 6'1"). It was a chore.

Ironically it was a healthcare company advocating for fitness, but maybe they didn't think about anyone with a bad shoulder not being able to turn the crank, or worse, someone ending up tweaking a joint cranking that sucker lol.

I do at work as well.....I often like to stand at work because the air conditioning is pushing out really cold air (and I never get cold, except now at work....go figure) and by standing, I can move and get warm again.

Just purchased the Denon 3800 and Panny 820 Player.......all that is left is the TV (either a 77" LG C3 or G2) and blinds for the windows (I have a final inspection tomorrow and will measure the various windows for the blinds at that time.) My check book has shrunk by a good margin and I feel somewhat sad.....but I 'll get over it once I settle in and enjoy all the new toys, LOL!

I just bought a used Paradigm CC-350 Center Speaker on eBay for $100. Why?

Decided to have an "Office HT", which will be a 3.1 set up.

I will be putting my sons TV (who is moving in with me) which is a 55" Samsung TU-8000 4K TV along with my old Paradigm Titan V.2 Bookshelf Speakers as "front speakers", an old Polk PSW-10 subwoofer, my old Pioneer SC-05 as the AVR and the Oppo 83 as a blu ray player. I will also use my old TV stand that I had in the basement set up. A rather rag-tag HT to be honest, but better than listening to a soundbar or TV speakers.

I will also be adding this theater seating: https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pd...rce=graymatter
