Aren't S.A.V.E. releases generally for titles that don't sell well? No way YYH will fall under that category if so, especially considering it was previous marked as an Anime Classics. I remember hearing on an ANNCast or some sort of podcast that YYH still sells surprisingly well for being an older title.

S.A.V.E. doesn't mean a title sold bad, if that was the case, FUNimation would have gone under a long time ago considering how many shows got put on the line. Do you really believe a few hundred series sold that bad (S.A.V.E.) and only a few dozen sold great (Anime Classics)? Many S.A.V.E. titles sold well, OniAi is a perfect example as it overperformed all expectations. It received an LE-only release, it sold out in under a month, it got an additional print run, and that sold out in a matter of months and was being scalped. It later got a Blu-ray-only S.A.V.E. release. Date A Live, the S1 LE sold out in under a year, far faster than most LEs, and that also landed on S.A.V.E.
I'd recommend not assuming S.A.V.E./Essentials=Bad seller and Anime Classics/Classics=Great seller. Some shows went straight to Anime Classics for the very first release (Ex: Many of the Geneon Japan titles FUNi finally was able to release in late 2012) and never sold particularly well if Amazon's best-seller rankings are of any indication. Tell me, who is buying Peacemaker Kurogane or Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040? |

Looks like Funimation got the episode listing right this time around, opened up the Season 2 Steelbook a minute ago.

The new special feature is pretty cool, I enjoyed it. It features three of the brand managers discussing how they came up with the connecting cover design, easter eggs included in the new artwork on the back, some of the back and forth between Funi and the licencor while coming up with the art together. There was also a clear shot of all 4 covers. |

Kinda out of the loop on the new bluray releases, but how are they different from the older (2011 i think) blurays? one of my best friends favorite anime is yu-yu, her birthday is in a few weeks, I know she hasnt gotten the newest bluray seasons since she cant afford em right now, but she also has the complete older bluray collection. would it be worth getting her the new first season bluray set?

Funimation has the first and second season Steelbooks bundled together with the exclusive Hiei Funko Pop for only $40 dollars. The Pop is selling for between $25 and $30 on eBay right now. Sell the Pop and you can get a fantastic deal on the Steelbook releases.

No problem. It is a fantastic deal. I paid $30 for each Steelbook and like $12 for the Pop at Hot Topic over the summer. I wasn't expecting any kind of a deal until the Steelbook sets were complete.

Does anyone know if any of the content in the Movie/Eizou Hakusho OVA set has been remastered in HD and released in Japan? I ordered the DVD for my collection because it was something that I had to sell off a few years back. I've wanted to rebuy it for a while but I have the feeling that Funimation may bundle it with the upcoming "new" OVA release.
