I hope you realize that you're wrong. Your movies don't suddenly disappear just because UV does.

they do.

here is an example:

say if you purchased movieABC at one of the deceased UV providers (not vudu or fandangonow).

This movie is in your UV library but only viewable on Fandangonow as VUDU does not carry it.

When UV dies or Fandangonow decides to remove the UV flag of that movie, you have lost that movie.

It's not on VUDU because they don't carry it. It's not on Fandangonow because they removed the UV flag. It's not on MA because MA does not know that you own the movie. The only bridge is VUDU

That's where you're incorrect. Once it's been imported, it stays there.

what do you mean by imported? from where to where?

say movieABC is UV but not on VUDU, and it shows up on Fandangonow before.
but once fandangonow removes the UV flag of that movie, your movie is gone.

using your movie as example, you own police academy 4 in HD in UV, and it was HD on fandangonow when it has the UV flag.

once fandangonow removes the UV flag, it's gone.

you're seeing it in SD because VUDU offers it in SD, so it transfer back to fandangonow in SD through MA

Sorry, but that information is in error.

I haven't connected my FN account to MA and all (or most...who can tell with FN) my movies are still in my account. Just with different 'flags'. I have UV and MA enabled movies, and as indicated have NOT connected to MA.

can you give an example of a movie that's like that? including where you've acquire the movie.

do you own any of the movies mentioned in this thread that is no longer HD?
or one of those few sony UHD uv that only shows HD now.

well since you contacted MA, let us know when there is an update.

but I really don't think they can help you since this is not an MA issue.

go to your MA transactions page and search for those 4 movies you mentioned in OP.

I bet they say VUDU * SD next to them.

I recommend you listen to what supaet is saying then, as he's not in error.

For instance, I own "Dark City: Director's Cut" in HD in my UV account. VUDU only carries this title in SD, but FandangoNow carries it in HD. Prior to connecting my MA account, I could access this title in HD on FandangoNow.

However, once I connected my MA account, FandangoNow replaced the HD UV copy with my SD MA copy from VUDU, and now I can no longer access my HD UV copy.

See, the only titles ported FROM FandangoNow to MA are titles PURCHASED from FandangoNow... not UV imports like VUDU, which lumps VUDU and UV purchases together.

IF VUDU were tomorrow to stop supporting UV, my HD copy of "Dark City: Director's Cut" will be gone, even if VUDU were to add "Dark City: Director's Cut" in HD next week.

I also had "Ghostbusters (2016)", "The Shallows", "Inferno", and "Passengers" in UHD on FandangoNow Monday afternoon due to having ported from UV as such. Monday night, these titles were replaced on FandangoNow by my HD MA copies from VUDU. I no longer have access to my UV copies.

Basically, if you own a title (not purchased/redeemed on FandangoNow) in your UV account, and VUDU doesn't carry it, or offer it in the resolution you own in UV, it's probably stuck in your UV account, and never porting to MA. I guess there's hope for Sony Pictures Store to possibly join MA, or possibly Paramount Store (once Paramount joins MA) if the films are Sony or Paramount, but otherwise, one's out of luck.

If you bought the movie in UHD from FandangoNow, Vudu still overrides that purchase? This doesn't make sense. It has to be an early glitch or something. right?

You were talking about Police Academy 4. iTunes has it HD. Are you connected to iTunes. is it SD there?

it's safe when you bought from fandangonow or vudu. what's not safe is your purchase from target ticket, nook, and flixster. and to a lesser extend, sonypictures

you better hope vudu has those purchases (both the movie and the quality) now or before UV folds.

"Passengers" and "The Shallows" in UHD on FandangoNow is what is preventing me from linking FN to MA. Vudu is a behemoth, but that also means they are slow to respond, slow to upgrade, and slow to strike studio deals. If (more likely 'when') UV transitions to being a legacy locker, I don't have a lot of confidence in them to secure UHD encodes for the titles they lack.

so are you confirming that you still have access to those two movies in UHD now?

if that's the case, we should put out a giant PSA sign to tell everyone not to link their FN account to MA

This is issue with both MA and providers. It is such a simple and one of the basic logic check that it shouldn't have even be an issue. In plain English, the basic check should be...

"If the quality of the in-coming license is higher than currently being held then update license quality otherwise ignore."

FDN just added a bunch of 4k titles that I already own. None ported in 4k. Still HD.

I'm assuming they're ironing out a LOT of the kinks.

just to piggyback on this i think the other simple and easy solution for the fix is for MA to port in "all" UV titles from fnow whether redeemed or purchased to adjust quality issues. The problem is that MA is not porting any UV redeems in from FNOW so the system is not seeing the title. Which is stupid since FNOW was a UV provider.....

The films shouldn't be pulled. If they want to pull the UV license, fine. But Once they're in your library, they should STAY there. Movies didn't bounce in and out if they lost or gained BACK their UV license.

OMG. Dude. Get off the UV kick.

I'm talking about MA movies. I own the 4k license.

Hidden Figures
Home Alone
Planet of the Apes

They all became 4k on FDN today.
