Default Sony 85xbr900H for $2000 vs Vizio P85qx-h1 for $3000

Best Buy has the 85 inch xbr900h on sale for $2000. Sam's Club has the Vizio Quantum X P85qx-h1 for sale, $3,000.

I'm not a gamer, just a movie watcher who wants the best and brightest picture, and I know the vizio probably gets the nod for that, but is it worth $1,000 more?

Anyone have an opinion? Thanks.

Same price at all Authorized dealers. I love Sony's 85" X900H and the crazy low $1,999 Black Friday price is exceptional!

Go with the Sony XBR900H.

Get the Samsung Q90T. Very bright display and colorful.

Robert, your thoughts on the Vizio, if you've gotten to see it? Thanks!

I have not personally tested Vizio's Quantum X series TV. It has good reviews and has a high peak luminance capability. Sony's flagship X950H would be closer to the price and performance class to Vizio's Quantum X.

Although I have not seen them side-by-side I expect up-conversion of low resolution content, like cable and motion resolution to be best on Sony's X900H. I also like Sony's X900H HDMI 2.1 for all gamers. At $1,999, Sony's 85" X900H is an excellent choice.

I have been eyeing the x950h for awhile, but the x900h at $1999 is very intriguing. What is yours/everyones recommendation?

I mostly stream movies through Vudu, Netflix, Disney+ and watch NFL and MLB. I have a sonos arc, sonos sub, and two Sonos 1s for surround.

My biggest pet peeve is motion blur when I stream sports. Picture quality is important but then again I just stream so I'm really not that picky. I don't game at all.

I love Sony's X900H for it's exceptional price and premium performance. Blacks are actually slightly lower on the X900H vs. the X950H.

With that said and considered, my favorite LCD/LED TV for 2020 is Sony's X950H, followed by the X900H and Samsung's Q90T. Samsung's Q90T and Sony's X950H have a higher peak luminance than the X900H.

For Bladerunner5375, Samsung's 85" Q80T for $2,997 on the Black Friday promotion is another very good choice in the sub $3k category for a 85" 4K DR premium TV. But the value in the sub $2k price for Sony's 85" X900H is hard to ignore.
