I received my copy here in the US from Zavvi. It was wrapped in bubble wrap inside a box. There was absolutely no damage to it. It was shipped on 11/13, so it only took a week to receive.

Where did you get that quote from? There's never been a specific 'edited shadow effect' covering her breast, it's just the grading in whatever version pulling the shadows up or down accordingly.

Eh. I kind of figured that the Bds were getting to them in a subsequent, delayed shipment. I'm happy to hear they've finally arrived.

I'll get mine eventually.

I'd probably be more anxious if my enthusiasm hadn't been dampened by some regret over going with the Bd over the UHD, as well as not looking forward to the cooler timing.

I always think of this as a warm film. That color grading, irrespective of being authorized by the DoP or not, might be a bridge too far for me.

I got my 4k today from Zavvi and the packaging was so much better than the one Amazon used for the blu-ray I received. Sturdy box, bubble wrap and in perfect condition.

I just wish at the time Zavvi had the blu-ray so I wouldn't have had to order from Amazon. I might actually contact Amazon about their crappy packaging they used.

Is that why I can't search My Account? Lol I thought my computer was malfunctioning. Unless I'm going blind I don't see a disclaimer saying anything about maintenance on the site. The rest of the site seems fine I think they just disabled the My Account section so people won't check every 5 minutes and email them

I do get it, it’s winter time but the blue push that does start at the gas filling station scene jumps out.

I know at first in the mall everyone is cold and of Frans makeup is like they are pushing the fact its cold but I never recalled seeing her look like a frozen popsicle. I don’t that that blue push was needed.

That being said the transfer is the greatest for sure. The detail and the compression. I watched the Theatrical in 1.0 Mono - same with today watching my fav version the Cannes cut also in 1.0 Mono.

Since Dawn of the Dead has always been a cold winter film I will be rotating all the cuts and audio options all winter long!
I figured the other cuts would have it as well. I might try tweaking the color calibration as well, but I'll probably get used to it watching the other cuts and knowing it's there.

Now onto second disc of De Wolfe library tracks. Great stuff.

It was definitely down for maintenance. There was a page with a note saying it would be down until Monday morning. However, I just went there and it appears to be up now. You are correct though, itís not letting me log into my account.

I still havenít gotten a shipping notice on this from them yet. They must have sold a ton of these because in the past they have always turned my orders around with crazy-speed.

Try logging in again - it just worked for me. Still no change on the DotD status, though. I wonder how many copies they were allotted - there was just a 24 hour window where people could place orders. 24 hours is enough time for people to get orders in but I doubt Second Sight allotted them hundreds of copies. If you don't get a shipping notification by Wednesday it's safe to say you won't get one until the following Monday at the earliest.

Out of general curiosity, has Diabolik ever canceled orders due to over ordering and they don't have enough?

At this point I am just happy if it arrives before Christmas and in absolute pristine and mint condition.

i myself think you should.you paid a fair price for a product and rec'd less than stellar merchandise-and the more folks let them know about damaged product the better the chance they will implement safeguards -glad the one got there in great shape

I doubt this will ever happen. Amazon's packaging has been notoriously crappy since forever, and if anything, they've actually become worse as this thread shows.

sad that folks let themselves be treated like that.i myself have never used them-i buy direct or thru diabolik -or zavvi-maybe it cost a tad more but my stuff is always early and in pristine shape.and i didnt pay 100 bucks to be let down.what's amazon's slogan? prime letdown?

It's weird, but I don't think I've ever had a problem with Amazon. I order from them all the time and items are consistently packaged well and in mint condition.

Zavvi, on the other hand...

There's lots of grain. It's just very, very fine. And the excellent encode is the cherry on top. Extremely filmic transfer. The very best this movie has ever looked and sounded.
