What's the status on special sets like "Popeye in Technicolor" or "Terry/Lantz/Famous"?

If I ordered I'm No Fool and Secret Christmas discs shall I expect the other titles I ordered when you opened the special sets ordering back up a little while back?

We're working on getting everything out the door, combining when we catch it... so, yes.

Just ordered Thunderbean's Gulliver's Travels and Technicolor Dreams and Black and White Nightmares. I'm really looking forward to watching some great classic animation.

Awesome. Particularly looking forward to the Lulus and Noveltoons, which will nicely complement both Popeye blus.

Trying to get a few upgrades has been challenging on this for sure, but there's a few film I have always wanted to scan, so this has given me that excuse since it's hard to say if or when any of them will actually be available otherwise...

Tommorrow is an exciting day; we'll be getting out a majority of the finished sets at one time, and a few other sets in the coming week. 167 packages are done with more getting put together tomorrow- with the 'Secret Christmas' set likely going out on its own since they are are still being burned tomorrow.

That said, here's some news:

(another special set???!!!)

Yes, we're doing another, and all this stuff is unlikely to be available another time after..

Announcing "Thunderbean Thursday 2018".

This special Blu-ray (bdr) disc features 13 (or more) cartoons and shorts from both the Thunderbean archive and things we've scanned and are scanning that don't have any current plan for a release. It includes stop motion animation, Scrappy, some Technicolor prints and a few things you thought you'd never see in good quality. It also has a few rare 35mm nitrate prints on it that I can't release otherwise. It's likely the last of the Thunderbean Thursday sets and will be sent in early February.

All proceeds will go to help Thunderbean releases and shipping.

The set is $14.95 plus $3 shipping to the US, $7 for Canada and $12 anywhere else in the world. It's available for one week only, until December 15th, 2018. Paypal is steves@thunderbeananimation.com.

Be sure to list Thunderbean Thursday in the PayPal notes, and thanks to all that have had both patience and support of all of these things. IT's been a unique adventure doing all the 'special' sets!

Received the Snappy Video Party Disc as well as Mid Century Modern Volumes 1 and 2 today

I really wish some of the older stuff I'm still waiting on would finally arrive, but I'm glad to see that at least the recent stuff is arriving when it should :P

You will not be disappointed! "Gulliver's Travels" is especially stunning! I sure hope Steve is able to resurrect his efforts to obtain "Mr. Bug Goes To Town" for Blu-ray. I'm sure it would be every bit as beautiful as Gulliver.

Hi Steve. I just sent you payment for Thunderbean Thursday 2018, but I think it neglected to put my address with it and I think I didn't put the 2018 in the note field. Could you please notate it as it comes in? Thanks!

(I was too excited at the prospect of more cartoons)

Gulliver is probably my favorite release of theirs. Not just because the restoration is spot on but the movie itself. It's one I remember seeing at some point growing up, so that probably has something to do with it as well.

GULLIVER is stunning, but without MR. BUG my Blu-ray shelf feels terribly unbalanced. The film has some really good songs of the period and deserves a proper release.

Gulliver is one of my favorites too; it was the first high definition project I did, and I cleaned up nearly the whole film myself and did all the edits of the various material. The point of a restoration I think is to make the film look as good as possible from the materials available, keeping the intention of the creators above all else. Until we get luckier and have a release from original negs, I think it's the best we'll see. We're trying for something similar with most of the releases we're doing.

I'm really enjoying getting the Flip the Frog set all scrubbed up as well as all the other stuff. A ton of things went out the door today, and more tomorrow- happy to get so many things out and we're working on more...

We *thought* we had Mr. Bug licensed; At the moment there's minimum guarantees and size of company issues to contend with.
