I stopped going to theaters when they went digital. After seeing the quality of the digital. I have a home theater with a 150" screen and a 4K Barco projector and also a 85" Sony XBR 4K tv with three Oppo players a 203 4K, a Oppo 93, and a Oppo 83. Along with a Panasonic 9000 4k unit. Audio 11 channel sound with Atmos speakers. Why would I want to go to a theater?

Okay, got my next few movies lined up. Now I'm excited for Moonfall, The Batman, and will checkout Morbius. No idea after that, maybe I'll just go see Spider-Man again haha. Gonna be a wait till we get that on Blu-ray.

My local Regal is showing Parallel Mothers next week. Kind of weird to be showing a 2021 movie in 2022 but I might go see it.

We were watching films from 2019 and 2020 in 2021. Heck, a film from 2017 was the first big hit of 2020. Now it’s 2020 & 2021 films and one from 2014(!) in 2022. Top Gun: Maverick has been ready forever but Paramount and Tom Cruise are virus shy so it’s been pushed back repeatedly.

What is weird about it? For decades, studios have been giving year-end releases a December run in LA/NY and leaving the national release until January/February to more closely coincide with Oscar nomination announcements.

I buy something from the concessions simply to help out the theater knowing they arent making profits from just having me sit in the theater. I'll buy a water or soda simply to have something

There's been times that i'd go alone and even feel disgusted having my soda sit on the side while I go to the bathroom lol. I know I should just go to the bathroom first but those lines on a busy night can fill up quick

I can never understand how people bring food into a bathroom. Most animals have the sense to not deficate in close proximity to their food.

I went to see The King's Daughter yesterday but the kiosk wasn't showing the $5 Tuesday discount even when I scanned my card, so eventually the manager just gave me a free ticket. I was the only person watching it.

Bringing a water to me is fine because I can just sometimes fit it in my pocket. I get weirded out though bringing a soda in there and having it sit off to the side.

Seeing dudes though just leave their popcorn out in the open and wander off to take a leak though while the bathroom is packed. NOPE that is definitely not something I can agree with. Like I stated earlier, even more so during this whole pandemic, cleanliness just took a higher level with me now lol

I leave my popcorn and soda on the benches outside in the hallways. If not a bench, sometimes a defunct popcorn/soda/vending area that is only open on weekends (or at least used to be during the Before Times.)

There is a chance that someone would mess with my popcorn, but I live dangerously.

Even if I wanted to do that though, I could not because the main two AMC theaters I go to, due to covid, removed all table areas and the few benches that were in there.

Curious if they'll bring them back now that I think about it

They kept the benches at our theaters but blocked off access to all of the water fountains.

Them darn fomites.

Ironically, all of the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are open for us to press our grubby fingers on the touch screens.
