FUNimation license-rescues on DVD generally look worse, so the Geneon DVDs should look a bit better. The red discs are due to the Geneon Signature Series, which was a budget line Geneon had. The original 8 singles don't have red discs.

Well I know at least some are because Funimation used to put 13+ like on Dragonball GT and other older titles. So it’s like well PG-13 13+ same thing. So it’s like not the actual rating it was given but like the closest thing to the rating it was given other than just putting something like TV-PG or TV-14. But that was how it was DVDs. I imagine something similar happened with Blu-rays.

But yeah would need a change those to 13+ or as a TV Rating especially for those that did air on TV Uncut or at least not having any major differences from the TV Airing to the DVD or Blu-ray. |

Geneon, Bandai Entertainment, Central Park Media, Media Blasters, and Aniplex USA also used 13+ as well as ADV Films until around 2005 (this is when they switched from the + ratings to standard TV ratings), and RightStuf also used 13+ until around 2014 or so when they too switched to standard TV ratings. Many didn't realize if you scroll down more that option is there.
On another note, a large number of releases as well as show pages show "Not Rated" when nearly every single North American anime release in existence has an age rating on it. The things that happen when people trust Amazon which is known to have plenty of inaccurate info. People also get Discotek Media stuff wrong, they're the only company that doesn't rate their stuff, but they use "Unrated" on the back instead of "Not Rated". There have been a ridiculous number of releases I've had to fix the age ratings on as well as the movie pages, as well as switching "Anime" to "Yes" because IMDb doesn't use it as a genre tag. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=345324 Last edited by BigOnAnime; 01-29-2022 at 05:19 PM. |

I'm curious about this as well, since I have a soft spot for Jubei Chan. The first show had a BD release in Japan, but this second one does not. Its also an early 2000s show which could make it soft looking to begin with and its Media Blasters, so I'm not too hopeful about the quality. I have heard that its missing chapter breaks which is not encouraging. I'd like my suspicions to be proven wrong, but if not I'll stick with the old Geneon discs that I have.
