Default MoviesAnywhere exclusive Atmos

I noticed Despicable Me 2 and Despicable Me 3 both have Dolby Atmos at MoviesAnywhere.

Anyone know of any other titles that have Atmos at MoviesAnywhere but not at either iTunes or VUDU?

Miss Bala might be one, but since I don’t have it I can’t confirm.

Here you go, mostly Universal.

1. Battleship DV / DA
2. Snow White 1 and 2
3. Lone Survivor
4. Spartacus

There might be couple more but above are from the top of my head.

And the picture quality of MA is better than iTunes.

Adding Atomic Blond and Jason Bourne to this list.

Well, I’ll be damned. Universal DTS-X physical releases that are Dolby Vision in iTunes appear to be Dolby Atmos Exclusives in MA. Just checked Fast and Furious 6, 7 and 8 and all three Dolby Vision Dolby Atmos in MA.

I have 2 Vudu movies. Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and Boyz in the Hood. On movies anywhere Jurassic World shows in Dolby Vision and Atmos. However Boyz in the Hood shows HDR10 but only 5.1 for sound where as on Vudu it shows up in Atmos. Why would that be? Why are some on movies anywhere in Atmos and others that should be aren’t?

just how it is. not every retailer will get the same treatment, seems studios create multiple digital files to send off to each one, otherwise there wouldn't be so many differences in each one. Makes no sense why, but they could get Atmos at any time.

MGM, Lionsgate and Paramount don't do MA.

Sony doesn't do DV or Atmos on MA. Same with Fox (films released prior to Disney acquisition).

Universal, Disney and Warner does. Universal, many Warner films and few Disney films get better treatment on MA over other platforms.

See below link. Wherever I had marked MA, it means MA stream is better.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

The numbers don't change (ever) unless the provider does that which hasn't happened yet.

Thanks for the DOC! That’s helpful. Yeah Boyz in the Hood is Sony and you said they don’t do Atmos. It’s so weird why they are all different.
So this is a side question but why I asked my original. I’m trying to do most of my streaming on the Fire Cube as opposed to the TV Apps. Too many issues with eARC and dropouts etc and the Cube supports literally everything (Dis+ with DV and Atmos, same for Netflix, Prime, and even YouTube with HLG) except Vudu isn’t officially on the cube. The cube does have Movies Anywhere. I know many people get Vudu by using the 3rd party installer. Does that version of Vudu still work the same as the one on the TV or are their Bugs/limitations? Also since you made that Doc do you know how do Vudu stream quality compares to MA? Thanks again!

For iTunes, I would strongly recommend ATV box as Apple have definitely capped the bit rates on non-Apple devices.

ATV box is the way to go for all apps except Netflix due to 24Hz bug.

There is a hacky way to install Vudu on FireTV stick as documented here https://firestickhacks.com/vudu-on-firestick/ but I haven't tried as VUDU is of no use to me as I live in the UK plus I am happy with iTunes/MA.

Great news! Thanks for the DOC too. It helped me alot. The video looks good, but boy, reading those audio bit rates just made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. That audio bitrate shared across all channels. No wonder I don't redeem my digital codes.

Audio can be a hit or miss on streaming. It's certainly better than plain DD or DVD audio and some of then sound as good as the disc (law of diminishing returns) but some of them do sound compressed.
