Default HP pc Drive

I have an HP pc Blue-ray Burner & Player that when I try to Play Independence Day in Blue-ray all I got was a blue screen. Does this mean that I need to update my firmware or what. All suggestions would be greatfully accepted. Thank You SENIORFINFAN

Many things could be the culprit. You may not have a HDCP monitor. You may not have a HDCP graphic card. You may not have connected your monitor with a DVI/HDMI cable. You may not have a compatible motherboard. You may not have an updated software. You may be running two monitors at the same time.

And moreover your monitor might show the other information then is. I think that the best way for now it is software updates

System information please, OS, computer model, processor, ram, video card, monitor type, and BD model number. That should give us a good start in our quest for an anwser.
