Well, I got a dvd copy from Amazon Vine and just finished watching this fantastic documentary on the film career of Roger Corman.
Lots of great interviews and film clips from his films.
Jack Nicholson even breaks down in tears, I never thought I'd ever see something like that!
This is a must for Roger Corman fans!

I will definately upgarde to the blu when the price drops.

I got this as a part of Deepdiscount's President's day sale. I've watched quite a few Corman movies over the years so I'm looking forward to seeing this

How is it that I have never heard of this?!? As I seem to be collecting documentaries about schlock - Electric Boogaloo, Machete Madens and the like - it looks like I'll have to pick this one up too.

I just finished watching my Starz/Anchor Bay Blu-ray of Corman's World: Exploits of a Hollywood Rebel.

I've been a fan of Roger Corman's productions since childhood, when I used to see Piranha, Death Race 2000, Battle Beyond the Stars, and Galaxy of Terror on network television. When I grew older, I delved into his Edgar Allan Poe adaptations which starred Vincent Price, and I also discovered more of his glorious 1970s exploitation movies, especially the women's prison movies which starred Pam Grier. Corman's productions were instrumental in launching the careers of the likes of Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese, Jonathan Demme, Joe Dante, Ron Howard, and a great many others, and it's awesome to go back and see those early flicks where these giants of cinema cut their teeth.

This 2011 documentary about Corman's career is a joy to watch, because it not only includes generous footage from his hundreds of films, but also present-day interviews from Nicholson, Scorsese, Demme, Dante, Howard, and so many others, all of whom are grateful to the producer/director for putting them through unofficial "film school", so to speak, on the art of making fun movies at a minimum of expense and a maximum of profit. Even if you are not a movie geek like I am, you will likely find this film extremely engaging and infectious in its spirit.

This Blu-ray delivers the goods as far as technical presentation, although I feel somewhat unclean for bothering to go into this for a Corman documentary.

This is a great release!

One of my favorite moments of that doc is when Nicholson cries thinking fondly of Corman and the career he helped give him. This is Jack freaking Nicholson IN TEARS talking about his love and admiration for Roger "King of the B's" Corman. I really wish more people would appreciate just how much of an impact Corman has had on American filmmaking and the talent he helped discover.
