I hear you. In one of my last posts I made the comment that all this complaining makes me want to watch the Amazon Prime Streaming version

And they'll have Tim Lucas commentaries, so that makes them must-haves.

Yes, the German one. The only uncut edition worldwide.

I watched the "Theatrical Cut" on the Kino set and had no major problems with how it looked. My TV is set to a low brightness anyway, so that helps. Glad to have an approximation of the shorter cut in HD with the original Mono track.

Yeah, Kino has definitely shifted to quantity over quality.

Different people have different limits when it comes to how a film is presented. I don't see how your post is anything but provocation?

If you're happy with your purchase, more power to you. Just like you were once happy with the squished transfers for Spies and Woman in the Moon even though they were labelled problematic by the foundation who restored the films.

You can be content with what Kino offers but please don't be snarky when the complaints are very legitimate. Just because you don't care about the flaws doesn't mean they don't exist and that people who point them out should be ridiculed.

How many of the people critisizing the Kino Blu-ray actually bought & saw it first hand? Or, are they just judging by the screen caps? I bought & saw it, and am quite happy with the transfer. Most of the yellow-ness is gone, and the film looks better to me as a result. Of course the gamma may need to be changed on the TV, but that's the nature of the KLSC discs anyway. I believe Kino did the best they could with the color, and I'm quite happy with the purchase, especially with the 162-min cut which I prefer more than the extended cut.

Anyway we are now and I'm glad you're enjoying the Kino release.
Your emoji just insulted my mule. He'd like it to apologize.

I think changing the global temperature on the display with the MGM version (as Geoff did) would give a better result as it would retain the black levels and not make every other color look too desaturated. But I'm also one of the few who was relatively okay with the MGM transfer and color.

it's def 2.0 so you're receiver must be changing it, try switching receiver to direct mode or try some other movie settings on receiver like mono/stereo etc

Just wanted to say thanks to the folks who suggested changing your television settings to 'cool' when watching the yellow tinted 2014 release. Just tried that out and it was a huge improvement. Will rewatch the film this very afternoon with the new colour scheme.

Hello everyone, I was just curious as to what the general consensus is on this film, which version is the best. Region isn't an issue for me, I actually just purchased the German set that has A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More. I have the 2009 version of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
