While imperfect, those screenshots are a noticeable improvement. I never bothered double-dipping when the remastered disc came out, but between the colour correction and the inclusion of the theatrical cut, this is an easy purchase for me.

I'm all in for this edition.

I happen to think that the "yellow" MGM Blu-ray still looks fantastic, and I'm going to be holding on to it anyway, since it's part of a three-pack with A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More, but I applaud Kino Lorber for being responsive and awesome, so I'm going to support them as always and enjoy this version.

Might pick this up, I have yet to actually see this movie myself. I feel all these multiple restorations of classic movies is becoming a fad to purely make money instead of preserving them.

I would watch Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More first.

Are there any further details of what Kino used for reference for their release? I appreciate the effort, and I'm getting this. I can't pass up the U.S Theatrical cut!

And to think I was sold already just for the theatrical cut. Is doubly-sold a thing? Because I am. Just take my money.

I've seen those, own the boxset. Just some mild *****ing from me because it seems everyone has to have a go at remastering this film.

Been slowly working on my own regrade whenever I've had nothing else to do, and think it looks more appealing than those regraded Kino shots so I don't think I'll be buying the Kino release although kudos to them for trying to undo the damage Ritrovata did.

I would guess that they don't have a reference print and are simply dialing down the yellow/green. There are collectors out there who have unfaded IB tech prints and I'm sure they wouldn't mind helping Kino out if they asked. Some were kind enough to help me out with my regrade.

Would be awesome if they could reduce the teal, also, ala Mifune's caps, but hey, the Urinovision was the worst aspect and at least that's gone, so good news...

The MGM disc had the restored Mono, so why shouldn't this?

You can see that it's still pretty graded in a tealish yellow tint, it's just less pronounced than the MGM disc. Beggars can't be choosers of course, so I'm happy for any changes, but I feel like they could improve it a little more if they wanted. The color option I used just gave it a more natural unfiltered look, so I don't claim it to be true to the source either. Somewhere in between would probably be perfect based off the prints I've seen. I'm buying regardless ..Kino didn't have to do anything really, but they still stepped up and attempted to address complaints, and that's rare these days.
Loving your tweaks MifuneFan, would be great if you could post your color tweaks on Kino's facebook page so they can maybe dial back on the teal as well.
