All episodes are uncut, but Try To Remember is the version with the reshot scenes.

Here's some screens:

So even on iTunes Australia that episode is still censored so that’s the only episode censored?

I hope the original airing of that episode is found one day. Still glad that scenes missing in other so called uncut releases were found none the less.

So the Try to Remember on iTunes isn’t the one that originally aired?

The only way will be able to watch the original airing is through fan recordings because of the controversy but to hear the rest are uncut considering the German dvd still had other episodes edited so that’s still a win. hopefully there’s a hq version of the original airing someone recorded that can still be ai upscaled to match the rest of the hd ai upscaled episodes.

ALF was produced by Paul Fusco/Alien Productions with Lorimar/Warner handling distribution of the series at some point. Lionsgate seems to have distribution rights from Fusco and the HD upscales out there look pretty decent (considering they were all shot on shitti-o) but they were badly converted to 23.976 from the original 30fps they were shot in.

Try To Remember was recut by the producers and Lorimar after some stoopid ass kid attempted to do what Alf did in the episode (despite a PSA at the end telling dumb fucs not to try this shit at home). All other episodes that had later syndication edits on tapes created by Warner remain uncut on the masters that were used for the upscale, but it's believed the master tape for the original version of Try To Remember was directly reedited on the element and is why it only survives in this form. Ether some TV stations or Warner may have the original broadcast tape if they weren't sent back to Fusco.

How bad does the fps look and is there a way to fix it?

If you've seen shows like this shot on videotape, they typically have frame rates higher than 24fps film. If you notice things looking choppy during fast movement, then there's something wrong and it was badly converted from 30fps.

Does anyone know how the chances are that we will get a HD-release in the US iTunes Store?

I think it will just be a while but in the end one episode is going to probably remain censored because of the bad incident it caused. Hopefully the frame rate issues are fixed when it comes to the usa store.

Interesting they've gone the upscale route. Any other shows they've done this with? Since Classic Doctor Who is being upscaled for BD I wonder if iTunes will follow suit?

Looking at the upscale it’s amazing how it’s not too far away from a true hd remaster. I’m glad ai upscaling improved it to be almost perfect.

Yep looks pretty sharp from those screenshots! Could be the way of the future.

Yeah I know imagine all the other shows only on tape that are in good quality like this they would look almost perfect.
