The most I've paid was for the Zavvi Aladdin steelbook new for $74 with shipping included. Since Robin Williams died I see they've gone up in price to closer to $100 before shipping.

The one I'm most ashamed of is my Blufans Tripack of "Transformers 4." It's an okay film and it's an absolutely gorgeous set, I just can't believe I spent so much!

The most I have spent on steel is £30 for mini-series The Pacific. Almost all my films that are in steelbooks I bought during sales so depending of shops they have had prices ranging from £4-12 or €7-14.

Recently paid $85 for the Zavvi steelbook of There Will Be Blood. I think that was the point where I decided to cool it with the steelbooks for a while. From now on I'll just pick up a steelbook when the existing standard amaray art is atrocious (like Manhunter).

Last month I finally bit the bullet and purchased Jackie Brown Zavvi Steelbook on ebay for $30 shipped. A few days later, Zavvi had it up for $10-$12 in a strange blow out sale.

i have just got into this somewhat expensive hobby, and as of right now its been $49 for Thor, but I am currently looking for the Capt. America with the shield on the front, so I am sure I will be paying quite a bit for that one, but I need it.....(that's what all addicts say, don't they?)

I've never spent more than $30 on a steelbook. Everything in my collection that costs more than that now for whatever reason didn't when I picked it up. Everything except this little gem:

I love B*tch Slap very much (don't judge me) and I've been picking it up across various regions because I like to collect them. I have the American DVD and BD, the Canadian BD, the UK DVD, and this Italian steelbook. I'm normally not one to import for collection purposes but I just had to have it. Cost around $50 shipped from Amazon.it and I have it on display, unopened.

EDIT: Ok, I can't say the name of the film without being censored. Had to work around it.

Now my most expensive steel purchase would be Blufans Farewell my Concubine w/booklet. I paid $150, and was worth every penny. Gorgeous steel!

That's the best artwork, though. I wasn't too far off with spending $60 on my copy.

Paid like $25 for the German Armageddon steelbook off some hack on ebay. Shit came scratched and the steelbook itself looked better in the pictures. I just ended up giving it to my ex.

Sounds like my Divergent steel, got it for $19 off ebay last year because I missed it in stores. Came with a huge, undisclosed dent in back. Glad that Best Buy brought them back this year, the replacement only cost me $2.99 with the Insurgent promo they were doing this week.

Paid $30 for this:

I have no special affinity for Steelbooks, but it was a new release and the standard edition was only $5 cheaper, so why not.
