By the time this hits the HD Market the Paramount mistake will be close to done. At this time you'll be able to pick up duds at a local garage sale near you.

He means HD-DUDs.
I can't wait to see this, I am upset it is a Paramount title.
I don't think the deal will be done by then unless Uni and WB go Blu...

I think he was referring to the format in general. I did see the trailer for Ironman though and I was less than impressed.

I don't judge too much on trailers. As I recall, the first Batman Begins trailer looked real cheap too. Forget how that movie turned out when it hit theatres.

But I don't put too much stock in the Paramount deal holding fast. I think that it will have the same DVD release date relative to Spiderman 3 (which was in theatres May 3rd or so, and on Blu-ray October 30th).

So Oct 30th, 2008, we will see Iron Man on DVD. Will it be on Blu or HD-DVD at that time? Well, Oct 2008 will be 14 months into the Paranount deal, so we either wait another 4 months for the deal to expire, or, after 14 months, the deal is long dissolved by then.

Either way, I'm not to worried. I've been waiting for an Iron Man movie for 16 years (since I was 10), I can wait 4 extra months or even 2 years for it to hit Blu.

There was an article awhile back that said Sony would be handling their distribution in Japan for both Hulk and Iron Man. Dobyblue posted it.

Heah.

Good news for American fans but they would more than likely be region locked. Although Sony could mess Paramount about and release then as region free.

Yep true, but unfortunately Concorde is the worst german distributor of all! They use the exact same transfer as the one from the HD DVD! Well anyway, at least ironman wont be HD DVD exclusive :P

Japan have the same region coding as USA if i would be region coded. Sony have said that they will only region code day-and-dates in USA and have all releases in Region B region free. I don't know their policy of new releases in Japan.

Well by the time these two movies are ready for videos, lets hope Warner have already decided to end this war.

Spiderman 3 is region free here so I guess their policy is the same for Japan as it is for Europe.
