I hear FS is closing shop and a bunch are being taking over by Best Buy

They are the main Steelbook Source in Canada which really sucks since the exchange rates are so horrible anywhere outside the country thanks to the crappy dollar value

I was literally just going online to pre-order the Interstellar steelbook and found out...
The website says all the "great products" will be available at BestBuy.ca but of course no steelbooks yet.

Can't say I'm surprised, honestly the only reason I shopped at Future Shop anymore was because of the steelbook exclusivity. They just went downhill fast.

Of course trying to get hold of someone to talk about these issues is near impossible with a corporation like this.

You speak as though you didn't know that FutureShop was already a Best Buy company. Best Buy bought the FutureShop franchise in 2001. And, this just means that Best Buy will provide steelbooks for Canada now. One of the buyers for FutureShop who was part of the steelbook movement within the company is staying on with Best Buy... so they'll probably be making a case for the exclusive products to continue.

P.S. This has been discussed at length since 9am EDT in forums and in news all day. You are a bit late to the party.

P.P.S. I do agree that it sucks though!

Well I won't be missing the debacle that was the first Disney titles where they released such a small number of units with a worldwide audience waiting with their tongues hanging out.

So I wonder if BB CA takes over the Mondo line, would BB US get in on that?

But the Mondos won't have "Future Shop Exclusive" on the front any more. Is that going to make the old ones more collectible? I had been putting off getting the Looper and was actually going to order one this weekend.

Don't worry all the stock will go to BB in the next week. You can get it then.

Whew, went in on Friday afternoon to get First Blood...kicking myself I didn't get Looper or Boyhood at same time...

I know BB owns FS and I really do hope that BB in Canada will be carrying the Steelbooks from now on. Currently BB Canada has never carried any Steels which is a shame
