Default Recommend a lesser known film!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most of us in here have seen more movies than we can count, (I know I have). So we all like to think that we have the best taste and knowledge of the finer films in life.

But what about the films that hide?

One of my favorite things to do is to find movie gems, at the video store, library, small indie art houses, and most often netflix. Out of nowhere, by chance you find a movie that little or nobody knows about and the first thing you want to do is spread the wealth.

Name your favorite Word of Mouth films.

My Word of Mouth film you should check out is "Filmgeek."

I thought Shattered with Tom Berenger and Bob Hoskins had a great story with a number of twist and turns....most people I know have never seen it.

Default Down and Derby

For a great and surpising movie I would nominate "Down and Derby" which came out in 2005. I doubt that it is on Blu but it should qualify for your list.

Grandma's Boy. Has become a cult classic on dvd. Nobody I know ever has even heard of it, I tell them to get it, they do and come back saying it is hilarious and awesome. I didn't even know about it until my buddy said you gotta see this movie.

That's getting pretty mainstream I think, so if it qualifies, so would "Waking Ned Devine", it's funnier every time I watch it.

Well Slumdog Millionaire is mainstream now, but there was a time where I would have had to drive 50 minutes to an art house to see it....so keep em' coming.

Never saw it, but by chance was that about their EV-1, and how they discovered it got like 90 mpg, and subsequently had every vehicle destroyed after their leases were up?

Yep thats the one. also about the guy who invented the original battery for the EV-1 and how he actually invented a battery that got 300 miles per charge, gm subsequently bought the battery and sold it to exon mobile and the battery disappeared forever

It's a good movie, very serious subject but I don't remember the specifics, had a good twist, I think, at the end. Worth watching when life doesn't doesn't have you down.
