I SOooo want a pair of the RC Mini's for surround backs, but my tightwad wife won't let me spend the jack. I keep trying to tell her, "It's only $219 including shipping for the pair! I'll never see them that cheap again!" She thinks putting more money into a "stereo system" is a waste. Hey, it's my hobby, ok? I don't complain when you spend money on your hobbies, do I? No. I just...

Whoa. I caught myself ranting there for a minute. Maybe I should pay attention to my avatar... Any of you guys got Dr. Phil's number?

I just picked up the Energy Take Classic 5.1 for my small 12x12 in-law room. Already loving how it sounds and am amazed by the big sound created by such small speakers. Now I just need to upgrade to a newer receiver in the near future

I have a set of C-R100 bi-poles and was wondering if anyone has these on stands instead of mounted on a wall. I see alot of rears on stands and have always thought the best location for rears (5.1 setup) is 2' above you're ears. I'm just looking for idea's besides mounting them on a wall.

as I said in the PM, I think energy are great and you would really be happy with them if you chose them as your new speakers. and yes it would be an improvement over any HTiB system you have now...

i went from a polk monitor 50/cs1 set up to c500s and a c-c100 just over a month ago. i'm pretty happy about that now. at first i wasn't that impressed with the energys, but since then i've upgraded my receiver from a sony str dg820 to a yamaha rx v765. now that the c500s are broken in and are getting a little more power to them...they sound great! i think that's a great price for all three speakers, it's $50 less than i paid for my c500s and c-c100. just be prepared to break them in and make sure you can give them some juice...

awesome, thanks i will keep that in mind. my yamaha is htr-5740 (from 2003, 6.1 capable, no hdmi ). i think it should be able to give 'em a bit more juice.

Although there might be other ideas floating around, why not just mount them on the wall? You got the brackets which worked superb for mine. Nothing beats wall mounting the C-R100s.

Unless you lack conveniently located walls for mounting your C-R100s, I would only recommend wall mounting. That's what they were designed for. I suppose they could be placed on stands and then placed back against the wall. That would probably work but finding stands that will hold them 6 ft off the floor (which is about 2 ft higher than your ears when seated on a couch) seems precariously unsafe and unstable.

Mounting them in some other manner away from a wall is only going to compromise their performance and defeats their purpose IMO.

I wouldn't do it.

I have a chance to grab a pair of C-500's for 275.00 NIB, deal or no deal? I've got tons of speakers not in use, but it seems like a good deal.

Well, I finally got my wish. I ordered two cherry RC-Mini's from Vann's today. $99 each with free shipping. I can finally replace those "awesome" 20 year old, 55 watt, Radio Shack Realistic speakers I've been using for surround backs.

Congrats, its always nice to finish your system....

I just bought the last speaker I needed to finish my Connosuier speakers, I ordered a C-50 today from www.wwstereo.com for $49, it will replace my only remaining Sony B1000 which is the 6th speaker(surround back) in my setup, which sits between my 2 C-100 surrounds...

This isn't exact but it's roughly: 12.625 in. deep X 8.25 in. wide. -/+ 0.0625 in.
