Not everyone. Hate him. Utterly pathetic character played by an awful actor that should have been a background extra at best, not the lead in a franchise.

Anyhoo, finally watched this last night. Went in with very low expectations after the first two, but I've gotta say, this is the best of the lot hands down. Much more coherent storytelling, better visuals, better effects, more Jude Law & Dan Fogler, less Eddie Redmayne & Ezra Miller, almost no Katherine Waterson, & the score was sublime. Mads was also excellent.

It must be noted though, the magical community are a fickle bunch aren't they?

[Show spoiler]Yay, that clearly evil bloke Grindelwald has won the election somehow! Let's all cheer and shoot magical bolts into the sky!

3 minutes later, after Eddie weakly explains that no, that critter that anointed him is a fake, this one is the real critter (because why wouldn't you believe a mewling nerdy guy who can't even look you in the eye while speaking so quietly that most of the crowd wouldn't hear him, instead of the magnificent, charismatic Mads?):

Boo! That Grindelwald chap must be evil! Let's cheer & shoot magic bolts for that random lady instead!

Also, the Queenie situation was wrapped up suspiciously quickly. WTF happened there?

Gave it a second viewing and I Hated this film, it’s one and only redeemable addition to the film is Mads…I decided I was done with this spin-off, pitched this film, went to pitch the first 2 films but got bored and decided to rewatch them. Decided to keep the first two as I forgot how epic they were, not that it will ever happen but id be down with Warner Brothers scrapping this film and reshooting it with Depp while recasting Miller and somehow using Mads elsewhere in the universe or just thank him for his service unlike the Newt and crew haters, I much prefer those plot threads to any of the Credence story or the unnecessary romance between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. If nothing else, the film they did put out could be fleshed out by creating a part 2 that takes place simultaneously as this film and weaves in and out following the plot threads of the others and using that metamorphosis drink as an excuse to use Depp and Mads at the same time while also recasting Miller and ultimately redeeming THIS film and making it better… just borrow Quentin Tarantino for help with the breakdowns to piece everything together Covid/Depp/Miller/prolonged release date are all excellent excuses to just say, Hey, we’re sorry, this isn’t ultimately the story we wanted to go with so here is its replacement and enjoy, let’s restart the train and take it to the station it was destined for.

I think it has something to do with Tom Felton's interview.

Of course WB is standing by her especially since the people who were mad at her are now once again fighting for what she is. Lol!

I think you're right, something to do with these comments.

"He said: 'I couldn’t speak for what others have said or what she said, to be completely honest, but I’m often reminded, attending Comic Cons [fantasy conventions] in particular, that no one has single-handedly done more for bringing joy to so many different generations and walks of life.

'I’m constantly reminded of her positive work in that field and as a person. I’ve only had a handful of meetings with her but she has always been lovely. So I’m very grateful for that,' he explained."

I'm not finding anything particularly controversial personally, but others have.

I've enjoyed all the Wizarding World films so far, and I hope they make a fourth Fantastic Beasts. The ending of the third was good, but with Grindelwald on the loose there's still at least one more tale yet to be told for Newt and company.

This little bit of info kinda went unnoticed during WB Q3 earnings call, earlier this month.

So, unless something changes real soon, it looks like this is the end of the Fantastic Beasts series.

Glad I'm not the only one that enjoyed it.

I can understand if they aren't releasing 5-6 movies that originally was planned. But at least wrap up the Dumbledore/Grindelwald story and I'll be satisfied.

Well this series was planned to have 5 entries. we'll see if WB moves ahead with those or not, but the odds are not looking too favorable at the moment.

The writing was on the wall after the last one. WB should have just turned it into a trilogy and wrapped everything up in this one.

I liked FB3 and FB1. It was FB2 they screwed up, mostly because of executive meddling, imo. They tried to cut out all the character moments in the second one and did the franchise in more quickly because of it.

While I would've liked to see it reach 5 as originally planned, FB3 did wrap up most of the plot pretty well. With Dumbledore having been freed from the blood pact, we pretty much know what happens from there. Dumbledore eventually finds him and uses the Elder Wand to take him in at that point. The ending with Dumbledore walking away looking inwards at Jacob and Queenie getting married in a forlorn and bittersweet way (obviously thinking of what could've been with Grindelwald--a nice bookend to the convo between Dumbledore and Grindelwald that opened the film), with that wonderful score behind him, was a great ending if so.

Fine with me, I liked the ending and that the series is a Trilogy.

Yeah, I felt they kind of knew and wrapped up most things in the last one.

Fair enough, I was only going by some of the posts here. I haven't actually seen this one yet.
