I didn't know Benigni was in a new version as Geppetto. It's way better casting than the last one where he played Pinocchio.

Yeaaah....... I remember that movie. I was like, why is a grown ass man playing Pinocchio? Also the movie was so BORING. I was bored to tears watching it.

This looks great!
I can't imagine it being better than the Citizen Kane of animation.
But it does look more closer to the book. Definitely gonna see this.

Disney's Pinocchio was in a lot of ways dark as it is, and yet it was a film that targeted everyone. However, you'd only realize the "creepy" parts once you've developed your maturity although as a kid I found the Gypsy and "Kids to Donkeys" scenes just weird.

That said, I'm curious what this'll end up being and will probably watch it.

Guillermo del Toro casts Cate Blanchett, Tim Blake Nelson and Finn Wolfhard, among several other luminaries, in his stop-motion PINOCCHIO movie. At the same time, he signs an overall deal with Netflix.

Criterion have released both Netflix and GDT movies. I wouldn't worry too much.
