Warner Bros Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022) - April 15, 2022

J.K. ROWLING’S ALREADY WRITTEN THE FANTASTIC BEASTS SEQUEL MOVIE!
POSTED BY ALICIA LUTES ON JULY 1, 2016

Oh my griffin-goodness, you guys: we live in magical times. Times chockablock with fantasy and intrigue, and an expanded Harry Potter universe. We were already head over wands with anticipation for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, J.K. Rowling‘s first screenplay endeavor and the cinematic story of Newt Scamander’s travels in America. But now there’s word that Rowling’s already written the sequel to the film AND has ideas for the third installment of the planned trilogy. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

While on the red carpet for the film Tarzan, director David Yates spilled the Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans on the matter to Reuters, saying that “We’ve done the first one, she’s written the second one, [and] she’s got ideas for the third one.”

If you’re still standing/breathing/not losing your mind, Yates continued: “When we adapted the books, you would always have to leave out things you hate leaving out because they didn’t quite work within the structure of the storytelling for the movie, or the movie would just be far too long. With this, it’s just pure Jo from the first page to the last page.”

Naturally, we’re over the moon at the thought of the wizarding world’s continued expansion into the movie world. Few things are as enjoyable and exciting as escaping into the world of witchcraft and wizardry, and based on the trailers we’ve seen thus far, we’re fairly confident that—even without ol’ Harry Potter—we’re going to fall in love with the American contingency of magic workers when they come to life on November 18, 2017.
A trilogy!!

If she changed the title to Fantastic Breasts and Where to Find Them, she'd increase the footfall 100 fold. Plus those guys who have to climb ladders and push letters into cinema marquees are going to do it anyway. I know I would.

J.K. Rowling Working On ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ Script

Harry Potter author and Fantastic Beasts screenwriter J.K. Rowling is now penning the prequel-slash-sequel series’ next installment, Rowling said on her official website.

Asked by a fan what she’s currently writing, Rowling answered, “I’ve just finished the fourth Galbraith novel, Lethal White, and I’m now writing the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3.”

Second one looks great, hope it lives up to the hype so I can stay excited for this. First one is underrated.

‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ Pushes Production Start To Late Fall

Quote:
EXCLUSIVE: It has come to our understanding that Warner Bros. is pushing back the production start of the third Fantastic Beasts film.

Originally, the J.K. Rowling-scripted movie was going to go before the cameras in July of this year, and now it’s looking like late autumn.

It boils down to more prep time for part three. The Fantastic Beasts production team literally delivered the last movie, The Crimes of Grindelwald, which made close to $650M at the WW box office, and more pre-production time is needed for the threequel. Literally, Fantastic Beasts 3 would need to be in soft-prep by now to roll cameras in the summer. Actors are being alerted about the push in production in order to change their working schedules. Previous Warner Bros. administrations had the tendency to rush event films to meet release dates, and in this case Fantastic Beasts 3 was rumored to be 2020. Warner Bros. executives now have a new approach of allowing big productions to brew as needed.

There aren’t any hard details about part 3 other than the movie will address a lot of unanswered plot questions, and fans can expect many of their favorite Potter-verse characters after Grindelwald gave us Jude Law as young Albus Dumbledore. No confirmation at this time, but previous Fantastic Beasts movies have shot at Leavesden studios in the U.K. David Yates is still set to direct the threequel with David Heyman, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Rowling producing.

In the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series, Eddie Redmayne plays Magizoologist Newt Scamander, a collector and tamer of mystical beasts, who makes his way through the secret wizard communities of New York, Paris and London during the late 1920s. The movies have also starred Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, and Dan Fogler. Johnny Depp played the role of baddie Grindelwald in part 2.

Together both Fantastic Beasts movies have grossed a combined $1.46B worldwide. Altogether with the $7.7B made by the Harry Potter franchise, the Rowling Wizarding Universe counts close to $9.2B at the global box office.

It's been a big hit overseas, and they want to keep JK happy, but that's exactly what it sounds like to me. "Hey, we've changed our minds again. Could you do another rewrite..."

Doubtful. Grindelwald only did $150M in US, but it made almost $500M in foreign markets.
