Default Great lesser known horror movies...

During the last ½ year I have become very interested in horror movies (old & new)... Everything from the original Dawn of the Dead to Halloween! But what I am looking for are some truly frghtening horror movies that no one talks about! 2 of my faves are Session 9 and [REC], and not a lot of people have seen those movies, even though I think Session 9 is an extremely creepy little movie Thinking about ordering Dead End (2003), but im running out of ideas! Any suggestions?

Cheers

The Changeling (not the Angie Jolie one, but the George C. Scott one). Scary stuff IMHO.

Dog Soldiers.

Black Sheep.

The Ginger Snaps Trilogy.

Also: Do yourself a favor, unless you have an electric drill handy and feel like using it on your eyes afterwards, don't listen to the folks that suggest "High Tension" a bigger piece of $#!+ has never been put to movies.

And yes, that includes all Uwe Boll movies, he does a better job every time out than High Tension.

The Changeling is one of my favorite horror movies and best of all, it's PG. It didn't rely on gore and for a movie made back in 1980, it holds up very well.

Check out Exorcist 3 as well.

Other notables:

Unrest (Best of the "Movies to Die For" series IMO)
Ju-On. If you're gonna see The Grudge, THIS is the way to do it.
Shikoku - Decent Japanese horror film that starts out slowly, but is really good.
Witchboard - You'll never look at a Ouija Board the same way again.

If you like funny horror, try Fido, Dead Alive (aka Braindead).

The Cavern is 1000x better than The Descent if you want a good cave diving scare. However, it makes a big difference if you have aproper 5.1 surround system (i.e. NOT MATRIXED AUDIO).
