Default Can iTunes Extras be accessed on the Apple TV app for Android/Google TV?

Admittedly, I'm not an Apple guy. I run iTunes on a Windows 11 laptop and the Apple TV app on my TV with Android TV. I can access iTunes extras on my laptop via the iTunes app, but I cannot see any of those extras on the Apple TV app. Do you know if it's possible to see the iTunes extras on the Apple TV app?

I can’t see iTunes extra on the Roku Apple TV app, so probably the same for any other similar 3rd party apps. Luckily I have an Apple TV as well, so can pick up the iTunes extras on that.

Thanks! I guess I should be grateful I can view them on my laptop.

Besides the iTunes extras, are there other advantages of the Apple TV hardware? I'm pretty happy with the Google TV experience.

I pretty much solely bought the Apple TV in order to get the Itunes extras. As I put more and more stuff on digital I was missing the special features. Itunes tends to have more extras than VUDU.

I do like the Apple TV a lot though apart from that. Very easy to use, and fast. My ROKU was much more buggy (though it was the cheapest one - I'm sure the more expensive ones are better).

Proper HDR/Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos output.

Support for various frame rates.

Better cross integration for apps. The AppleTV app can launch you into Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Max, etc by selecting your next episode or selecting the movie you want to finish.

People say Apple provides higher quality streams to Apple devices.

I'd be interested in knowing if there's any validity to that. It would be a compelling reason to to buy their products. Currently, the Apple TV app delivers good looking content on my Onn 4K Android TV box.

I've seen it mentioned on these forums. The Streaming Movies forum Bit Rates master thread has some numbers and technical info.

Sadly, as above, unless you're using an Apple product you can't view the extras. Grrrr.

The other bummer missing out on Extras (I am primarily a Roku user) is that some of the alternate/director's cuts are buried as extras and not accessible. My only Apple TV is the old non-4K and currently installed at our northwoods cabin and have a hard time justifying a new one just for the extras.

I guess that all depends on how much you value the Extras and the alternate cuts of movies available.
For me personally it’s worth every penny as I do make use of the extras, I use them as gap fillers or when I want to watch something but not necessarily a movie.
Having access to alternate cuts is very much welcome, at the time having the 3hr TV cut of Superman The Movie included as an extra saved me quite a bit with not having to import the Blu-ray.
