Brazil American Sites That Ship to Brazil

Hello, fellow users. Not sure if I'm the only collector almost despairing at this situation, but it's worth a try.

Amazon.com has been charging an import fee (which DOUBLES the overall cost of the purchase) for years, which makes buying directly from them pointless.

This year, apparently all of a sudden, for reasons that are unknown to me, sites like Deep Discount, WowHD, and ImportCDs simply stopped shipping to Brazil altogether.

Target and Best Buy do not ship here, either.

Of course, one can always use a storage/re-routing site like Shipito (I've been doing it for years), but their prices have gone up as well.

Does any Brazilian member - or anyone, no matter where from - know of any site that ships American Blu-ray discs that to Brazil?

Greetings from Australia! I don't know any particular vendors for sure, but what about WOW HD? Their range is possibly quite limited in comparison, but worth trying. Otherwise I'm thinking eBay :/

WowHD stopped shipping to Brazil a few months ago.

I never tried eBay because for some reason I've always associated it with used items, but if there is no other choice, I guess it'll have to make do. I've bought lots of things from Amazon's marketplace - I reckon eBay isn't much different.

Oh, that sucks I have bought a few DVDs off eBay over the years (some hard-to-find used titles, but also quite a few brand-new titles). eBay have search filters which should allow you to specify brand new items only. I'd also recommend sorting by price including shipping, because some items with very low prices will have expensive shipping (just to grab your attention). Particularly for US releases, you won't find it difficult at all to find brand-new items.

Thanks for the replies, fellas.

I have just created a new eBay account (my old one, from when I tried to sell some stuff years ago, doesn't exist anymore). I did a quick search for a title I'm interested in and lots of promising results came up (condition: new, good price, reasonable shipping).

Unfortunately I'm in Australia, so while I would offer to do the same, the postage would probably end up more than the customs charges that Cremildo is trying to reduce.

Good luck with it - if you find multiple titles from the same seller, you may also attract a slightly better shipping rate, depending on weight/size of the combined order (contact the seller first).

Hey Cremildo, here is a list of USPS shipping prices. These prices are good as of now but I expect them to go up at the beginning of the year on January 1st. The USPS is losing A LOT of money so you can imagine what they'll have to do to try and survive. Anyway, I'm just a girl standing in front...no wait, sorry. I mean I'm just a guy helping people out. I don't have any hookups with USPS or any kind of an account that gets me good discounts unfortunately. As you can see, the higher you go in weight, the less the price goes up.

0oz - 8oz $14.00
9oz - 2lbs $23.50
2lb 1oz - 3lbs $34.75
3lb 1oz - 4lbs $51.50
4lb 1oz - 5lbs $59.75
5lb 1oz - 6lbs $63.45
6lb 1oz - 7lbs $67.15
7lb 1oz - 8lbs $70.85
8lb 1oz - 9lbs $74.55
9lb 1oz - 10lbs $78.25
10lb 1oz - 11lbs $82.30
11lb 1oz - 12lbs $86.35

That's expensive, but not too bad, actually. I'm thinking about the Criterion Ingmar Bergman box set. It weights 7.3lb - according to my rough calculations, I'd have to pay Shipito almost $80.

Hey, which Ingmar Bergman set do you mean?
Do you mean this one here?
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Ingma...lu-ray/209992/

If so, I actually have that set right now for a fellow member and I did weigh it by itself just to see how heavy it is. I just checked our email correspondence and I told him that it weighed over six pounds. Of course if we get it during the next Criterion Flash sale (assuming it's eligible) or the next Barnes & Noble sale, maybe the shipping won't seem so bad.
If it makes you feel any better, I currently have a package for an Aussie member here on the boards and his package weighs almost 20lbs and will cost about $143 to ship it

You're right, my mistake - I misremembered its weight, which was posted in the specific thread for the release:

Wow. Over twice the weight of the humongous Bergman set. It kinda does make me feel better!
I'm hoping to get a new job next year, maybe then I could afford the set more comfortably.
