My local Walmart finally got the $5 steel books in the bin. No Mondo Reservoir Dogs, which is the only one I want.

Thanks for mentioning it. Not having Prime, if can find another $22 or so worth of other things on sale I want to buy, I will order it. The question is will it stay on sale long enough for me to find those items tonight.

Finding it in said store is another story though. I'm a glutton for punishment, so I might try tomorrow. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() One of my Walmarts movie section (and book section) always looks like this now. Pretty sure they’ve given up. And this is the Walmart on the nice side of town. |

I was a Walmart about a week ago, and noticed a section of DVD/Blu-ray shelving at been converted to a VR system display. They just keep shrinking the section little by little.

Yeah, that's the most vexing part about all this to me. Why are people buying big expensive OLEDs if they're not going to buy discs? Cable TV looks like total garbage, like an ultra-compressed version of Netflix. Like, if you watch a movie on AMC it's usually cropped and has so many compression artifacts that I'm usually more entranced by the compression problems than the movie itself. Streaming services even are going to look like trash in many regions of the country unless you're in one of the rare areas with fiber. Yet people are buying big fancy OLEDs and stores aren't selling any content to put on them. Dumb. I guess it's just for people who want to put motion smoothing and sharpening on max and watch sports.
I guess maybe in another 20 years the infrastructure in this country will finally be at a place where streaming looks as good as a 4K disc in most of the country. Currently it mainly only can in places like nice sections of major cities and the occasional smaller towns that have some sort of corporation in them that sponsored fiber. That picture of the Walmart movie section looks just like the ones I've seen recently, although in ours, they tend to be reasonably well stocked with DVDs. I remember a recent visit where literally the only 4K in the store was Top Gun Maverick and there were only a handful of blu-rays (they made up less than 5% of the discs in the store, and the store had WAY fewer discs than a year earlier). We haven't had "movie bins" in any walmart in a 90 mile radius for about a year (which includes the two big cities in the state and a major population center in the fox valley) and now Best Buy has completely removed the movie sections from some of their stores. I miss the good ol' days of sifting through those things in high school, and was still doing it occasionally up until a year ago when they got rid of them. |

Thanks. On Walmart's website no stores in my area have it available, so I'm not going to look for it any more in store. As noted earlier Amazon had it for $3.74 while Walmart.com showed $12.96, but I don't have Prime and couldn't find anything else to hit $25. Then Amazon ended the sale. Now Walmart.com shows it available for shipping in my cart for $3.74 sold by Walmart. As soon as I log into my Walmart account the $3.74 price changes to $12.96 with another seller. More false advertising from Walmart. I saw this series once on Hulu and it was mostly OK but nothing is worth this much effort. I give up.
